I had one of these buzzing around me this evening. I thought it was a bee, then I thought it was a humming bird because it went right for some srawberries I put in my compost bin. I had to google bumble bee humming bird... only to find it is a bumblebee moth. it was so fast, I was sure it was a humming bird!
We have found a few over the past few days. I had never seen one before.

Cool!

This is totally cool and FREE. Wish I had some way of getting it to my house. Maybe one of you who lives in the Royal Oak area could use it for a duck pond or super huge planter or something. RaZ or M2?

Bowl shape - 51" diameter - very heavy. It's in my back yard where the only way out is through a gate opening.

I really think this should be in RaZ's front yard!

Chicken fresh - Lovely pictures

Mom - I didn't realize two questions = overload, but I guess it must, as you only answered one of them.

Care to perhaps finish? And thank you for the complement.

That child does love her chickens. I can't wait until we lose one, it is going to be fun times.

Nigellas - To be fair, there is a good chance she would have to look up what "tenebrism" is, and I bet she has no idea how to get her chiaroscuro on, or how much she ought to hate gouache! Wait, that last one may just be me.

Anyway, hey! I was an art student, and I take offense!

Ah, no kidding! Except then RaZ would have to put a 4ft high fence and gate around his front yard to deter small children from falling in and drowning. Or the neighbor whizzing poison in it.

Wow. I expected to be thought a nut ball. Now I will wonder all night if I am the one who is compensating with my vociferous smugness while playing in my moral sandbox.

That is a very cool moth. Have never seen one here. I did learn something today though. Monarch butterflies are poisonous. Maybe that is why, with all the ones I see in the yard, the chickens on some level are conscious of the fact that they are not for eating. I have seen them take out those little blue butterflies.

Juise, Kaia is so sweet. OH, I mean, sweet looking. I know for a fact that she is just as devious as my little guy. All cute smiles and adorable... BUT an evil mind in there. HA HA. She's probably thinking of ways to get that chicken to projectile egg lay next time her sister ticks her off.

CG, I need a prayer. One that calls for keeping my tongue in my mouth and my foot out of it.

Is Michigan really that far away - WOW! Well, never mind RaZ, maybe I should rustle you!

Umm, well in Britain, we don't "RUSTLE" we "POACH". HaHa!
Perhaps, I exaggerated. According to mapquest, we are only 2400 miles apart. If I meet you half-way, is that still poaching? I've always wanted to visit out there.
The arbitrary lines people draw in their moral sandboxes are so fascinating to me.
Right up until the cat comes by and adds its opinion to the sandbox.

That concrete basin is cool. I could make use of it. (the quote link didn't work).
