Had a little visitor this afternoon and hopefully he stays out of my garden. He was at one side of the yard basking in the sun. David and I both initially thought he might have been injured. This was until we got close to him and he immediately became rather aggressive. I took a few pictures and left him to enjoy the sun. However, a few minutes later I found him sitting next to the wire fence around my garden gazing rather longingly at the plants inside. He is small enough that I'm sure he could squeeze through the 2x4 wire. I removed him to a location at least 50 yards away and as long as he stays out of the garden he and I can be neighbors.

If he decides to consider my garden his private restaurant then he and I will not be friends.

All right. I just got out the tape measure... Enemy. 2 panels are 12 ft .5 inch. The other 2 are exactly 8 ft. Now, this would not normally be a problem if it see put together like a box, but as you can see from my PP, it is not. So, I figure 7 foot 4x4 center post, and then 2 others as well, so its running approximately center down the run. Then to either side of that, 6 foot 4x4s so we have the general slope in, then build out like spider webs from there so it can be open top in the summer, and tarped over in the winter. I am not a builder, so I have 5 months to get this right... I could just make another panel so it squares out, and then it will be gravy to roof...

I would sure love to get them. If they are still available by Chickenstock, I just might think about it.

I will only bring them if I'm pretty sure they're not coming back home with me. I am going to Chickenstock so just let me know by the day before. I would like to keep them with their hens (Isa Brown and Silver Laced Wyandotte) since they were raised together and are usually near each other. Even with the ducklings the ducks don't chase those 2 hens. Pic from today:

Make an offer. My main concern is they're going to a good home (not right to a cooking pot), and not the money I'll get.

How old are the ducks? I don't remember reading that anywhere.

ETA: Nevermind. Found it.

Iver-on,(ivermecton) is a good broad spectrum wormer Dr. in Lansing said it works on every thing, not sure I agree but works for most. blood is usually seen with cocci Corid 9.6% is good for that, both can be put in waterers,,,,,,could do a stool sample and see, cocci I think has to be at a certain stage to read???could be a cut or pecked comb they bleed freely and heal fast. could be some one next to her is pecking

I was thinking a pecked comb also after I did some further inspecting. I did notice a Buff who also hangs out on the same roost with a gash to the back of her comb, which is scabbed, and I did noticed another one this afternoon on the side that wasn't there when I left town. How fast do they scab up? Maybe she had it & I didn't notice? IDK Between a 4 day weekend of Horse Showing and then 3 full days at summer camp with a million 5th graders my mind is scrambled. I haven't seen any other signs of blood & I checked the ground in the pen area. Egg count is normal also. I guess I will continue to keep a close eye on everyone & everything until I can get a sample to the vet on Mon.

My DH & DS love to use these guys for target practice. They sure can do a lot of damage to the crops.
