I suffered with cluster headaches for years until I had a stroke- then thankfully they went away. Completely debilitating when they hit, but go as fast as they come. They would last five to 45 minutes at a time..and I wouldnt wish them on my worst enemy- okay, well, maybe ONE person...other than that, nobody.
This pain threatens to become something...but not quite. Driving me CRAZY.

You better get it done- dont mess around, see the specialist, make sure there isnt something wrong.
Stroke was NOT fun. Recovering was NOT fun- and it was a small one. Go to a specialist.


Chimichanga...has immunity because my hubby says so.
Even this morning when we heard Return of the Zombies outside our bathroom window...

And I know, I know. Hubby says the same thing, that I should go get it done. In my defense, I've had scans of the brain, etc. This would just be an eye scan.. which I had JUST had done a couple months before the first one and everything was fine. I had a severe concussion a few years before the first one (as in, couldn't sit up for a full week without excruciating pain) and they did scans then, they also did scans on the night I went into the ER and didn't find anything wrong with my head (our first clue the doctors were quacks, lol!) which is what prompted them to tell me to check with the eye doctor.

Your hubby is being so unreasonable.

Yep I do... I haven't had time to post. The winery is really taking off! Been busy, busy with hauling scrap and painting! Can I text them to you? I don't know when I will be able to sit at a computer again!!! I'm just glad they invent phone internet, I wouldn't have a clue what was going on in the world of BYC!

I am surprised that I haven't had a head ache in about a week. Oh, I am not complaining, and now tomorrow I will probably wake up with one. I had a transient stroke a few years back, a few months before my dad passed away. Bad thing is, they are fairly common in my family. Nice huh? My gramps died the first time from a massive one, and the second time from a rip in the diaphram. Several of my gramps brothers and sisters also passed away as a result of a stroke, and cancer on my grans side. My other set of grandparents... Healthy familys. Most lived into their late 80s. I can actually still remember my GGFischer. We'd go to her house and she'd have coins thrown all over the yard for us to find. LOL. Hairy chin and all, I have very nice memories of her.

Delicious! Unless of course you prefer soft, lilly white, 6-8 week old mush. In which case, he'd be disgusting.


My Grandma died at 69 of brain cancer. Only took a couple months from when she started having headaches to the day she died. Grandpa died four years later of pure cussedness. He spent every day of those four years angry that he hadn't gone first and wanting to be with his wife. Of those two fates I'll most certainly take the former.

My one gramps, when he passed away, my gran, who was devoted, she said, "Next time around, I'll do it for fun". Note... they were both in their mid 70s. My gran has remarried... About 2 years after that actually, and she's now 83. She only just retired 5 years ago from working at the nursing home down in Sturgis. LOL. I think she'll out live us all!

Good news: absolutely no tumor. BUT, they did find something which is going to require more lab work, an autoimmune screen and a CT angiogram. I've told her what is coming up, but I have yet to tell her how the angiogram is done. I really don't want to. It's not going to be pleasant.

Teeville - I had a lot of medical fun in highschool.. and about every test in the book it seemed like sometimes.

To be honest, much of the time I felt like it was actually a lot harder on my mum than it was on me, as things really wore on though that did change, when you're in a ****** situation people often give you their sympathies, but when the ****** situation becomes the norm, people tend to forget just how ****** it really is for you. There were times when I really could have used some hardcore sympathy. It took over a year to get a diagnoses, though, I don't know how long you have been struggling with this with your daughter. When we were still going back and forth to the hospital all the time, every time I had to get another test my mum would take me out to sushi after if I was able, and, even aside from the fact that sometimes we had to wait upwards of 6 hours for the test and were pretty hungry, was really nice. I hope you guys get a diagnoses soon. I got very used to being poked with needles / injected / blood drawn, after a while I started asking my mum to wait in the waiting room because it wasn't a big deal to me at all and was very difficult for my mum to watch, she does not like needles.

I also had friends use whiskey on a Q tip to swab the area and some homeopathics that they felt helped.

Thanks, CG, I am not really comfortable giving them painkillers, but I think I will try the whiskey trick. At the very least, I could use some by now, lol!

Well if you come visit, you can bring me some moss too. I'll share with Mom2, she is just down the road from me.

If I ever actually make it, I will bring some, hehe.

Juise - we always used frozen bagels when my son was teething. He loved carrying them around nibbling and sucking on them.

Oooh, I will have to try a bagel. I slice up sweet potatoes into "fries" and freeze them, she loves those, and frozen peas, corn, popsicles... my mum swears by a frozen washcloth, and I have tried it but I guess I don't get it. It only stays cold for 2 seconds and then they are soaking wet.

School systems:

Mom, I am sorry you have had such a struggle. I try not to think about it, because I cannot think about highschool without becoming totally enraged / wanting to cry. It's amazing how badly the system can fail students sometimes. I was very ill throughout highschool, and the older I get, the more I cannot believe the way I was treated by the school system. I tried so hard to graduate, and now I wonder why. I had a few teachers who were amazing people, but most teachers simply get fed up with a student who is absent more often than there, no matter the reason. I could really go on, so I am not going to, but I wish you luck. Punch them in the face for me.

Juise - My 6 month old is also teething, and my 3 year old has become a serious cling-on, so I definitely feel your pain. Some days I have him in the Ergo on back and her in a wrap on front at the same time. It's a good workout, lol

Nigellas, already I can barely remember 6 months and 3, and I know why! I have had pretty good luck with a ring sling, but I hand it to you on wraps. I have a Moby wrap, and it is so hard for me to use that I don't. I used to lay it all out on the livingroom floor and roll around on it, like you would put on a kilt, haha. However, the babes never want to stay in it long enough to make the effort worthwhile fo rme, and then you are either stuck walking around with 50 feet of fabric wrapped around you, or rolling around on the ground in public to get it back on.

Today is laundry laundry laundry...and I have eight pots to plant...er, eight plants to plant. I bought some milkweed yesterday- and found FIVE monarch caterpillars on them.

Ahh man, now you are buying milkweed? Sure wish I could mail you plants. Take care with the mint you planted, it will take over the world given half a chance.

I bought some hostas from Hidden Lake Gardens a few years ago.. mouse ears I think it's called, with tiny compact leaves.

I love the mouse ears! I am not a huge fan of hostas, but I do like that variety. I have a miniature hosta my mum gave me last year... I am pretty sure that she said it stays reletively small, but mine seems to be keepin on super tiny, about midway between the size of a tennis ball and a ping pong ball. It is pretty cute. It hangs out in my daughter's fairy garden.
