Today isn't supposed to get quite as hot as yesterday, but anytime it get over 90 it is just too cuzzed hot. Lost two birds yesterday and I'm sure it was due to the heat.

I just read all the comments. Amazing how callous people are about chickens.. Is it ridiculous that the woman is facing a year in jail... Yup... But some people look at their birds as pets. I do. I'd have just borrowed the 22 and buried the little suckers. What is it... Shoot, shovel and shut up.
It is ridiculous and the pedophiles, rapists & murders run free. It's a waste of our tax payer's money. I say a period of community service cleaning out coops, collecting eggs, working at a farm!

About my mom... I have tried talking to her about being checked over by her doc. She won't change cuz she likes him. There is nothing wrong with her he says. Her blood working fine, she just had it 2 months ago. This has been getting steadily worse over the last 1.5 yrs. A friend of mine also told me to document things.. But I just wanted to see if other people would think like it do... Anyway, gotta sleep.

Going through the same thing her with my MIL. Been dealing with it for about 2 yrs. B.I.L. is POA & Health advocate and goes to the same doctor! He is an amputee from the knee down due to a motorcycle accident yrs. ago. I said to him....you go to a specialist who deals with amputees why not have your mother go to a doctor who specializes in elderly care? Nothing....dumb look! The lady needs a second hand rail on her entrance steps. Been preaching this for almost a yr. Longevity runs in the family. I said if you guys don't get another one up you'll be visiting her in a care facility everyday for the next 20 yrs.

People get older forget things,other illnesses will affect short term memory as previously mentioned. A lot of it is natural aging. If you don't have POA your hands are technically tied. But on the other hand if you have decent relationship with your mom ( assuming you do since she lives with you)Try sitting down
with your mom...on a good day and casually approach the subject, maybe with your sister present when she's fully recovered from her surgery. Documenting things will help, present these little things to her, express your concern. Plus you'll be able to present them to the doctor.

I was on a 6 month missing ralling for my MIL. My MIL and I get along but there is no love lost. I asked myself why do I care so much what happens? 1. I'm not heartless and don't want anything terrible to happen....too anyone! 2. It would lessen the stress/tension she is causing my DH which would lessen the chance of him bringing it home.

You know sometimes when you think life is giving you quite a beating, it takes a few minutes of reading to remind yourself that you are not alone and there are others who are even going through something more than you can imagine. The issue with our daughter is ongoing and due to extenuating circumstances now includes therapy, but we know we can help her, hold her and try to make everything better. Farmerboy, I'm sorry about little Micah and I hope your brother and sister-in-law will find peace and comfort when the time comes.

Sam- sorry to hear about your birds. All morning it has been definitely cooler outside than inside my house. I just put the dogs out, against their will because its cooler for them. Got my fans all doing their best to bring in the cool air. Im about to go to my moms, care for her critters- and her air conditioning. Then work, and do it all in reverse on the way home. We go pick up Mom and the girls tomorrow.


Everyone have a good day- and Swampducks- I like your idea of the big blower fan toward the neighbors'. Entire backyard and they have to put that grill right at the fence in that one area that smokes out Moms- maybe I will go pick up a big ol fan and set it up before Mom gets home. I have also taken note that they have a BIRD BATH in their front yard. Oh no no no no...one cannot call on my mom for feeding birds and then put a bird bath up in their own yard. I think I am going to have to ummmmmmmm, take the dog for a walk and perhaps drop her leash and accidentally knock it over while trying to catch her.
It wasnt even windy yesterday, and yet somehow their low cable line that crosses Moms yard managed to get all weaved in and out of the tree branches in moms back yard. So strange. I Im sure the next high wind/storm we have, it is going to do some strange things to their cable- but to each their own..

It's supposed to be warmer here today than yesterday, a good day to work inside. I guess I will go and change my avatar, but I don't want to. Finding a decent picture of myself is hard work.

Farmerboy - I'm sorry to hear about your nephew. But doctors aren't always right and there is such a thing as a miracle.

Gotta get to work outside before it's too hot. We are already at 70.
