Well, I'm off to take the kids town. Get groceries and a few other errands. Oh, pray for me because taking a 1 1/2 year old and 5 year old to run errands can be hazardous! Usuallly I just have the little one with because big sis is usually at school -- spring break this week. Hopefully, all parties involved will enjoy the outing! Everybody down state have a great day, even though there's lots of snow. Smile, stay cozy, and remember it is short lived.
or welcome back! It's been awhile, hasn't it? I just told Kristen we had 10 ft of snow....don't let her know it isn't so. I want her to buy dinner tonight!

My netting holds heavy wet snow also. I had to shake it down a few times. I built a support that runs through the center to help hold it up and prevent collapse. Too dark to check it this morning but my run was still standing. I guess I would'nt toss the netting but I would reinforce the run.
We did have a wooden pole in the middle of the pen but it fell. It must not have been deep enough in the ground

That is beautiful!! Do you have just one pole in the center supporting your fencing?
Just one pole in the center with 12 rafters. I have the heavy duty netting from Cutler Supply and it really traps the snow. I haven't experienced any problem with sagging.

My support is 16 ft long and 7 ft high. It not in the ground but sitting on small cement blocks and attached to the run with 2x4's. I was just going to make extra roost space with those 2x4's but ended up making small decks for my girls. Got a little carried away
We did not use heavy duty or supports because we knew it was temporary until we moved, so I was not real surprised. I was actually glad it lasted all winter. We will piece it back together and it will work until we move and then we will have things the way we really want and they way they are supposed to be!
I had a good laugh this morning. Our TSC got their chicks this morning. I was there at open. Rose just got the call from the PO and was on her way to get the chicks. I waited patiently for her return.
By the time she got back, I had no nails left. So here she comes with 6 chick boxes. The first box -- mallards. 2nd -- Pekins. 3rd -- campbells. All 6 boxes, assorted ducks!!! Not a chicken in sight!! My daughter would be in 7th heaven if she saw that many ducklings. Guess I didn't get any chicks today.
