You're suppose to bring the dessert! I cooked, for heavens sake, you know how often I do that these days!

Ellen, I stopped at the TSC today to pick up some pasture forage seed and of course they had several hundred chicks there, just arrived yesterday. There were some black/buff bantam chicks that my 12 year old daughter just was desperate to get me to say "yes" to. I too pointed out the six chick min., and also that there were only 5 bantams, so they couldn't sell them to us;-)

What we DID come home with, for free, were a red sex-linked pullet with a broken leg and a straight run RIR chick that had it's one wing tip pecked bald and bloody. The kids were happy, Mom was happy that she didn't have to listen to any more whining about the bantams and perhaps our two rescues will both be hens and both be sweet and both heal OK. That's a lot of maybes, but maybe is farther along than not at all.

Good Morning Michigan, each day we get a little closer to the illusive goal, warm weather. Yesterday every time I would take my jacket off the wind would pick up. Today doesn't look much better but 50's by this afternoon still isn't to shabby.
