It is nice to see other 4-H'ers here. My daughter does dog 4-H as well. Do you ever go to the state 4-H dog show at MSU? It is such a blast. I just love it. My daughter is 18 now, so this will be her last year. Such a bummer.

We have never been to the state dog show. This is only our second year in dog 4-H. My oldest is 10 and is the most active in 4-H--we will also be doing chickens and horse this year. My ds-8 and dd-6 are still cloverbuds and they like to mostly just play at the meetings. My dd showed her beagle last year and will probably show her again this year. If she would get focused on working with our aussie I think she would have alot of fun showing him, but he is a bit of a handful sometimes--he only 3.

attention CATRAY44 and vicki 2x2....

I just love this cheeky little sussex that posed for the pic

The sussex and a little mixed bantam came from MJ's. I also came away from MJ's with some of the GumpGirl Strawberry Cake----very tasty. It's the special cake like my mom makes for my sister's b-day each year. Okay--gotta rest up now. I am still exhausted from this cold I have had. Do not want anything trying to turn into pneumonia----had that last year and it was NO FUN!!!!!!!

Have a great day!!

ETA: sorry that first pic is so huge!! I thought I had resized it on photobucket.

Thanks and no worries at all!

Just got home from my trip to Lapeer.

...it was so wonderful to finally meet you. I hope those chicks do well for your daughter. Please tell her that I can't wait to eventually meet her as well.

And Sam...well, what can I say...there's no words. To all of you who have yet to meet this gentleman...don't pass up the opportunity. He is one of the most genuine people I've ever met. He reminds me of home in Tennessee.

For those of you interested in Sam's workmanship with his nest boxes...let me tell 'ya, it's amazing.

As soon as I got home I took my 3 nest box he built for me out to the coop and the girls immediately had to check it out. Sam's attention to detail and his sheer craftsmanship are evident in every aspect of his work.

I plan on recommending his work to all my fellow chicken enthusiasts.

Have a great evening, everyone! I'm going out to the coop to stare at the new nest box!

ETA: And again Sam...thanks so much for the eggs. I'll keep you updated on their progress. With so many of them, I should get enough chicks for sure!

Sure was a pretty day for a drive. I just got back from Meeting with Shelley and Logan. What a cute little guy. Reminded me of how at about the same age is when my own sons really started to become a lot of fun. I got a pair of bantam orpingtons from her. Then I talked to Crystal and she has some bantams hatching for me on May 1st. So when I add all of those to the two silver seabrights I guess I really have started putting together a third flock of birds.
Coming back I decided that I didn't particularily want to drive the expressway so I sort of wandered my way back home cross country through Fenton to Argentine to Howell. I guess as I came down Argentine road I should have been waving at Boyd.
Well I just finished a quick lunch of homemade venison sausage and I need to go put these birds in their new home. Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.
