Daycare Mom, i feed my meaties only twice a day what they can finish in about 10 minutes and let them range the rest of the day. lots of water.

darn it! i wanted to hang wash out too. it looks nice here, but maybe i should hold off.

Morning everyone!
Looks like you all have been chatting it up good this week I have to go back several pages to catch up, but it is always a great read. I have just got to tell you all what happened to one of our newest members here. She just joined on the 6th or around in there. She is the gal that I met back a month or so ago that had the little frizzles and silkies and cochin banty's. I am getting some from her.

She and her hubby are hatching this year and having a blast! They also hatched thier first pair of call ducks this year too. Her name is Melanie username is littlemissred. She is only a few miles away from me, and such a sweetie!
Ok, anyhow... Night before last she tells me she comes home from work and hubby tells her the flatlander on the property next to them with a camper is up, and his dog came over and killed one of her favorite babie bantys, and the baby drake call duck!
She is just so sick about this.
I am not sure which banty he got, she had two fav's one they called dead chicken cause when she pickes her up and holds her to her chest it instanly falls to sleep. The other is talking chicken, she follows you around and wants to talk to you. both so cute. Not sure which one he got though.
She has asked me if I will take the little call duck if she doesn't find a drake for her, as I have a duck that had her mate killed. She is an old pekin gal 10 yrs. old and lame for years now. Do you guys think they would adapt to each other?
That way Melanie figures she will know she will be taken care of and she can visit.
Thanks for listening, I am just so mad about this for her, guess I needed to vent.

Thank you Kris Rose, I guess the guy left already, she doesn't know these people or even where they are from. She said she was going to leave him a note on the camper door, but who knows when this guy will come up again.

Hey you all - our buff orpingtons are 3 weeks old now and beginning to feather out - hubby was at TSC this afternoon and they have red sex links - info detailed 370 eggs per year - does anyone have experience with these birds? Thanks!

Hello All from another Michigander! I'm new here myself, but have been coming to BYC forum for info the last couple years. Located in south east Michigan, about 35 miles south of Farmington Hills. I currently have 2 Black Sex Links pullets adults & 5 baby RIR in the brooder. Just finished putting up the new coop last weekend and look forward to getting the new ones in there in about a month or more. I will post some pics of the new coop. I look forward to getting to know you all; see you in the forums. -Mike:cool:

I know nothing about ducks, so can't help you there... sorry. Just wanted to let you know that I'm sorry your friend had to go thru that. It really sux when bad things like that happen. And I'm also sorry that more people on this thread hasn't responded to you. Sometimes people get so caught up in their own conversations that posts get buried. I'm hoping to bring it to the attention of fellow posters to take the time and respond and make everyone feel welcome and included.
