I am from Lapeer, we are moving to North Branch within the month, new house!!!!!!!! You could prolly say I am totally addicted to chickens! We started out with a few call ducks for 4-H, now we only have 2 of them left BUT we do have around 25 chickens.......not sure how that happened, lol. Currently we are looking for a good buff bantam brahma roo. We have one but he is getting older and apparently is only throwing girls. Guess he is against competition

We are also looking for good Colombian bantam cochins, we have a trio but would love a few more. The ones we have are all young but my son would like to breed them for 4-H.

Now that I know this is here guess I can keep in touch will all the other Michigan Addicts!

Good news!! -- The thieves who stole my checks were arrested this afternoon on 14 felony charges each!!!

They will be spending the weekend in jail if not long -- depending if they make bail!!

Well got to go check my Amish sweet bread, got 6 loaves in the oven, I don't know what got into me as I always end up giving them away. Oh well coyote trapper comes Tuesday so guess what he will be going home with.

Good morning people. Sitting here drinking coffee, working the crossword and wondering what the day has in store for me. Yesterday a bout of chickenitis flared up causing me to buy a couple of spangled hamburgs they had at the feed store. The moment I heard that peeping sound coming from the store I should have immediately turned around and went back another day.

That was quite a light show Mother Nature put on last night. I wonder what kind of beating my young plants have taken. It's just starting to break dawn so I will go out in a while to check on everything. I've got to check on all the birds, make sure they all have plenty of fresh water and feed. I've got to get started on the addition to the primary coop. I need to get everything consolodated into one location to make it easier to take care of the birds.

That storm was unbelievable! The creek behind our house is up over the deck of our gazebo and most of the yard is under water. The garden looks ok, it's on higher ground, except the swiss chard is all bent down. I hope everyone's gardens, chickens and homes survived the deluge.
