OhOh, you have to be coordinated to use it? That may be a challenge for me.

You should have seen me trying to break ice in the water barrels we had for our calves way back when... needless to say I was soaking wet.

All the talk of heated waterers is making me ill, the memory of winter is way too fresh!

I'm wondering how to keep the water cool - is there such a thing as a water cooler for chickens, or do the poor things have to drink tepid water?

Kris rose sorry for your loss. I must have missed the post about it. I am not sure where you are located but my brother in law from Harrison always takes his birds[tropical birds] to a vet in Cedar Springs, it's called Cedar Animal hospital. It's a good 3 to 4 hour drive for him I think.

No, you dont have to be coordinated, cuz I certainly am Not. lol. Opa talked me through it via BYC thread. JUst practice it in good weather, not like me. I waited till I needed it and it was not fun the first six times i flipped it. I learned not to fill it more than half way full, and to make sure I had level paver to place it on, and to flip it fast.

Went to Imlay this morning with Chickflick and meet up with Shelly. Vicki was there with Duckman (can't remember his real name!). I did'nt come home with anything BUT the two enablers I was with was doing their best to see how many turkeys and goats they could get me to buy. Shelly got some chicks and Chickflick got a little cutie of a bunny!
People we talked too was very friendly which made it an even better day. The temperature was around 70 and the rain did'nt start till later in the afternoon
