Where in mid Mi are you? There is a family owned meat processing place that sells to the public. They also make sausage. They sell me pork fat for 59 cents a pound. It is so easy to render and looks so beautiful in my canning jars, lol. I am about 25 minutes south of Jacksonl If you are anywhere near, I can help you get there, lol.

I used to have family in Midland... are there any meat processors near you? I just call a week ahead and they have it ready for me. I order around 30 lbs, and freeze it. When I am ready to make lard, I thaw it slightly, and cube it up. I bag up what won't fit in my dutch oven and stick it back in the freezer for next time. It is so simple as long as you take your time and keep your temp. low.

Good morning!! and finallly it IS a good morning. The sheriff is talking to 2 suspects in my stolen check case. He's pretty sure its them due to surveillance tapes. I'll know when he's done talking with them who it was. I want to nail these guys good! Found out yesterday, they just went down our road and took everyone's mail, including my neighbor 2 houses down. She just found out yesterday. Between the 2 of us, they wrote out checks for almost $1000. They'll be going away for a long time!! Forgery, larceny, and mail theft!

Good morning everyone!! We have a sick goat

. My daughter is bummed, it's her favorite girl. The vet will be out this afternoon, so we'll get her fixed up. I think it's pink eye, so it's nothing too serious. The poor little goat didn't want to come out in sun yesterday but my daughter was in the pen and Snowy kept peeping around the corner to see her. She finally came out and laid down right beside my daughter for her pets and love. We moved Snowy to a make shift stall in the garage last night. My daughter gets too attached to her "pets" sometimes. Keep your fingers crossed that Snowy is on the mend soon.

Head is all better laundry going half the animals feed. Drinking coffee watching the news thinking about a shower and working on the evil housework. Looks gloomy outside so no gardening today unless it changes out there
