I took both of my kids to the fowl fest. It was a good time to see all the different breeds. I told my daughter that she could pick a new chicken and she did. We came home with a Salmon Faverolle pullet. This is the calmest chicken I have ever seen. My wife says she's more like a house pet, as she always wants to perch on you and never get down. The birds were a little pricey, but how do you tell a 3 year old no?

OMG KELEKA YOU GOTS MY OTHER CHICKEN!!!!

I wanted all three of the Salmon Faverolle pullets that were for sale! Then made a chicken buying mistake and went to lunch to talk myself out of it. Chickflick was with me and, well, can we say ENABLER.
So went back to get my new loves and one of them was GONE!! OMG I was just sick worrying about who got her

. Well I feel much better knowing its another BYC member!!
Yer right about these chickens being calm and laid back. I wanted to add them to my flock but they would be hamburger meat after my BR's and Black Sex Link got ahold of them.
So now I'm thinking that those chicken diapers arn't so silly after all

Ha ha that's funny. I'm glad that they went to a good home. After having this faverolle I wish I would have picked up one of her sisters. We are really enjoying her right now. I had to put our only banty, the mille fleur, with her and they do great together. At least she has some company. Our buff orp goes crazy on her though and I know she wouldn't last if I put them together.

Where are you in Davison? I'm right off of Genesee Rd just south of I-69. I know we talked a while ago when the chicks were at Big Acre. Maybe one day we could meet up to see each others flocks?

They are definity house chickens. Last night Lacey come to visit me in the living room so I was giving her some cuddles when I heard Sofia flying. So after a few more cuddles I when to see what was going on and could'nt find Sofia anywhere. I had left my bedroom door open and when I looked in, there she was, sleeping on my bed!!!! On my down comforter!!!
I'm on Noblet Rd off Irish, south of Bristol Rd. Chickflick is second house down from me. I'd love to see your flock and coop! We will have to connect sometime.

Yer lucky about getting out of the area you were in. I heard that Angelo's closed down quite awhile ago. I was never a fan of that grease pit but the area did not need another empty building.

Montanna and Chicken Breath, both from Aura Michigan, in the GREAT Upper Peninsula of Michigan, on the south shores of Lake Superior!

We live in the woods, on 40 acres. We have 4 chickens, so far.......... I just ordered an incubator, been reading all the threads about hatching! I am getting antsy....... don't know if I can wait until spring..... like I promised Chicken Breath! We shall see.

Is there anyone else from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We have special weather circumstances up here. We may have to bring the chickens in the house if it gets too cold!

I love this message board, especially when I get into one of the long threads with day by day reports on the eggs in the incubator! I sat up until after midnight one night reading the saga about the double yoke egg in the incubator. I felt so sad when I found out they didn't make it.

Okay you YOOPERS, where are you???

I am near Grand Rapids, Michigan, and have several acres to play with. I only have 4 ducks for now, but hope to get a variety of poultry in the spring. Would love to know who would sell a few of anything in my area. This is my first day on this forum. Looks great!

Hello there...Yooper here!

We are in Marquette, also on the south shore of Lake Superior. We have six girls in the garden. We really are on the shore, the chickens are only about 150 feet off the beach. The winds can be wicked!

Where is Aura?

Hi there! Another Michigander here....Thumb area.

We have 16 laying hens and one 'stud' rooster along with three bantaam roosters. The laying hens are all different varieties. That, along with a male/female pekin ducks.

I've been raising chickens for a few years now! It's been really fun and rewarding!
