ahhhhhhh Missed that! I'm glad that I'm not the only ones to hang his out to dry. I'm sure if my daughters knew how I do laundry when their away they'd want to

I love hanging clothes out to dry, free's up the slowest appliance in the house and saves baskillion amounts of energy.

my kids KNOW their undies are left for the world to see. if they want us to be able to buy more, that's what must happen!

i pointed out the holes in all the undies too, btw. we're just normal, real folks here. one day maybe we'll be fancy schmancy. but that would just mean we'd have MORE holey undies on the line!

Oh my goodness I so know what you guys are saying. Most of the time who cares if the undies are out to dry. But next thing you know someone that's not related stops in and there they are for all to see.

Hello everyone. My name is Laura and I live in south central Michigan in the small town of Jonesville. I have been checking out chickens for the past two years. I think my DH is just fed up with the topic, and has finally relented. I can get some chickens......next year *sigh* I guess I should be thankfull, but it does seem like an awfully long time to wait. My DH is an Essex boy from England and we have a daughter who will be four this year and a new addition to the family in December. I am thinking that we will try to get the coop ready this year so that next spring we will be ready for the next step. I am hoping to start out with 10 or so, and thinking that we will probably loose a few to start with, hopefully not though. If anyone lives within an hour or so I would love to check out your set up and help give us some ideas. The only thing my husband asks is that our coop is "tidy" looking. So....I will continue checking out all the beautiful chicken pics on BYC and look forward to next spring with much anticipation. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better. I introduced myself on the intro page, but then found the Michigan page here, so I am introducing myself again.

I have narrowed down the breeds I might like to try to the following: Orpingtons, Marans, Jersey Giant, Australorp, Buckeye, Cochin, Delaware, Dominique, Plymoth Rock, Sussex, Wellsummer, and Wyandotte.....well, that seems like more than 10. I might have to get more. lol Did I mention that I like "Pretty" chickens?

I just started with chickens this year and I said I just wanted 10 chickens to be basically "lawn ornaments" and maybe get a few eggs from. Well, now I have about 70 chickens and I also have ducks, geese, turkeys, and I'm picking up quail tomorrow (thanks to my enabler Boyd

) It is VERY addicting, but I must say it is a fun addiction

. Seriously though this is a great group of people, they have been very friendly and they can pretty much can answer any question since they are long time addicts.....I mean experts

This waking up at 4am is really getting old. Although this morning I finally realized something good from it. The television is on and two blondes have been trying to convience me that if I only send them two easy payments of $39.95 they will send me a book that will show me the "surefire" methods to becoming a millionaire. Who would have thought that becoming wealthy was so easy. If anyone believes that I suspect that their IQ is probably about the same as the breast size of those two women. Them girls sure are pretty though; now where did I put my checkbook cuz they just said I have to respond within the next twenty minutes.

Chores are all done and it wasn't even 7am. A storm is making its way to our house right now.
We have to leave in an hour to head up to the Fowlerville Fairgrounds for a fun dog show. The girls are showing the dog this year, and we haven't been to a show yet. So I figure that we should seeing that the fair offically starts in 1 week!!!

have a great day and I hope the storm passes through fast. Got a pig roast to attend this afternoon.

Sarah
