Good morning! I was up at 3:45am for no reason also. didn't see the 2 blondes selling ways to get rich, but I did see the amazing juice a matic! Why are we up sooo early when we don't have to be? When I was on vacation it was 4am (eastern) every day. I live on central so that really screwed me up. When I have to go to work at 7am, getting up at 5am is fine, but not on my day off.

Well I was on vacation up north for a week, then I had to work some awful hours and been busy with the chickens, gardens, and whatnot. No thunder storms up here, tho I wish we would get some rain. And I don't have a dog house so can't make pancakes on one:) I can make a bunch of tacos in a minute tho. Off to work -- Wish me luck

Morning everyone. Woke up about an hour ago to a raging storm

The rain was coming down in sheets and my two big silver maples looked like they were getting blown sideways and now nothing....

Going to check the weather channel before I take my oldest daughter to pickup her car from brighton, make sure nothing scary is going to blow through.

Aaron, looking forward to meeting you!

It is starting to rumble here. I really hope it actually rains. We really, really need it. We have had maybe a tenth of an inch in the last 2 weeks or so. My dog won't leave me alone. He hates thunder.

Hello everyone. My name is Laura and I live in south central Michigan in the small town of Jonesville. I have been checking out chickens for the past two years. I think my DH is just fed up with the topic, and has finally relented. I can get some chickens......next year *sigh* I guess I should be thankfull, but it does seem like an awfully long time to wait. My DH is an Essex boy from England and we have a daughter who will be four this year and a new addition to the family in December. I am thinking that we will try to get the coop ready this year so that next spring we will be ready for the next step. I am hoping to start out with 10 or so, and thinking that we will probably loose a few to start with, hopefully not though. If anyone lives within an hour or so I would love to check out your set up and help give us some ideas. The only thing my husband asks is that our coop is "tidy" looking. So....I will continue checking out all the beautiful chicken pics on BYC and look forward to next spring with much anticipation. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better. I introduced myself on the intro page, but then found the Michigan page here, so I am introducing myself again.big_smile I have narrowed down the breeds I might like to try to the following: Orpingtons, Marans, Jersey Giant, Australorp, Buckeye, Cochin, Delaware, Dominique, Plymoth Rock, Sussex, Wellsummer, and Wyandotte.....well, that seems like more than 10. I might have to get more. lol Did I mention that I like "Pretty" chickens?

Laura

welcome Laura! i think you are close to Catray44! she would probably be very helpful to you! pm her!

Hello Laura! We are country nieghbors... I live outside of Somerset Center, at Lake LeAnn. You are welcome to come see my very humble, but tidy, setup anytime. I will be heading out to see Miss Jayne this week. She has a wonderful poultry farm. She also sells a fantastic coop set up. I have one of them if you want to see it. Unbelivable price for a ready made coop and it comes in a package with birds, too! Go to Dollhousefarms.com... maybe you dont have to wait so long?

Good morning everyone! I'm so happy it's raining!!!!
