I usually go to the one near where I work - it's humungo! I think I'll play lazy this morning and hang out in PJs until I have to go pick up my daughter from a sleepover

I did, however, convince hubby to go to Chickenstock!!! Wohooo! Now I just have to figure out what to bring

The rain is down to a drizzle now. I think my chicken and turkey butts want out to play. Shall I or shant I???? I might get bombarded and run down when I open the fence to let them free range, tee-heeee!

Well I'm back. Mr. Hubby had breakfast from Micky D's. And now he is sulking on the couch because it is raining and he can't go outside to do work with the tractor. LOL. Well I guess I could get off my bum and get dressed and get some house work done. But... I am not sure if I feel like it.

Hey Laura,
welcome-byc.gif

When you do get your Chickens, to me this is my personal opinion, I would get Black Australorps, Barred Rock, Welsummers, and Ameraucanas

the BA, are very gentle sweet quite ande lots of eggs, BB are the same, Ameraucana, the same and give pretty green, green/blue eggs and big ones.

my experience with Wyandottes, i have sliver and gold, the gold are little crab buckets and the sliver are not as bad

Have Fun

Thank you all for the most kind welcome. My daughter and I are off to the Chelsea farmers market soon. I drive by somerset center every day, I work up in Jackson. My husband is such a city boy, when I first mentiond chickens he told me he didn't want the chickens waking him up at 5 am. I told him I wasn't going to get a rooster (at least not to start with;) ) He didn't see how it was going to be possible to get eggs from the hens without a rooster. It was very hard for me to stop laughing.

Mee too!!!!!

We have a birthday party at noon and a pig roast at 4pm to attend, so I will be getting some yummies today. Makes it easier to have the knowledge that I am missing out on Cat's goodies.

Thanks for the encouragement with my exersicing. My oldest daughter is newly turned 13 and my youngest is 2 1/2 with 3 more kids inbetween. (5 kids total)

I had 13 years of being pregnant or nursing. I am trying to regain my body back. It is a lot harder taking it off than putting it on!

Have a great weekend everyone!
We are off to a pig roast.

Sarah
