Good morning everyone. Was outside working painting the great nest boxes my husband built last night. The chickens are almost 16 weeks. When do silkies start to lay? I have 1 that is starting to do some strange things. Also the silkie roo was the first to crow so is my thinking correct that they mature a little sooner than the BO and BR?

Seriously, though, if anyone hears or knows of anyone that would be interested, please let me know. I may also be posting pics of one or two speckled sussex roos we may need to re-home. Kara's bbo roo Shadow is her favorite---the one she wants to take to the fair and we are hoping to be able to at least keep him. We may have a home for one of the sussex roos---I have my fingers crossed, and she would like to keep one for herself. However, if we can only keep one roo, it will be Shadow. He is very sweet and mannerly so far.

I've got eggs in the bator to hopefully hatch him some ladies his own size. Sam (Opa) came out for a visit yesterday and really liked him as well.

blueberrylu...i was wondering about the pig roast because we were at a bbq two doors down from a huge one last night!

wondered if we just missed y'all! you can do the pepperoni rolls with the gumpbread. it works awesome.

Hello!

Home from church, had it under the big tent.

The pig roast we went to last night was a lot of fun! There was another party a few doors down too. Some folks showed up at the wrong party. They walked around and after about 5 minutes or so then they walked down the road to the other party!

Well today is my birthday...and my family forgot! Hubby just told me he didn't...but it took him almost an hour to tell me happy birthday.
