Hi all
If anyone uses Dumors chicken feed, can you tell what is the source of animal protein in Dumor's chicken feed?
I tried the 800 number on the white tag several times but there is an automatic message going on.Nobody picks up the phone and I really want to know the source of animal protein.

IF it's not a good idea to try rehoming the 3 chicks from Brood Trudy, what are the thoughts on taking the chicks from the Trudy and I'll put them in a brooder for the next few weeks? I'm going on vacation next Monday and want to do everything possible to be sure that the chicks have survived while I'm away - a couple of neighborhood boys are going to be watching over them!

Hi jayne do you mean dead chicks from hatcheries?

actually plant proteins is good, or fishmeal or worms are fine, but I dont want any other animal products in my chicken feed . The tsc stores close to my home have Dumor, kent or scratch grains. So if Dumor has animal by products than I am left with Kent and scratch grains.
Does anyone know the source of animal proteins in Dumors chicken feed.Where it is derived from.May be dead chicks? or -----? or..............?

well, before we jump to the conclusion for sure, let's wait to find out. many hatcheries sell the males from sexlinks and extra unsold chicks for feed.

oh, i forgot...i have five pretty little bourbon red poults that hatched today! hoping the last egg will hatch too.

so cute! will try to get pics when i can open the bator. (they're in the Dickey, so i can't get a good pic.)

9:29 tonight - Trudy is allowing the chicks to nestle under her at night - so she must be bonding with them to some extent!

thank you for the congrats and they are so cute. still hoping #6 will pop out by some miracle. i don't know if it's actually alive or a quitter or what. i don't candle a zillion times or anything. i just let them be and whatever happens, happens.

good choices on the names, Briana!

...the brooder is always the most reliable back up because you KNOW that it's more under control. (barring acts of God etc.)

oh, i just got the cutest pic of my slates snuggled down for the night with young RC RIR's under their wings! posting it right now on my web. i'll post a link in a minute.
