Good morning all, still trying to wake up. Feeling kind of whipped today for some reason. Lots to do just not much enthusiasm for doing it. Laura, when I made the apple butter yesterday I cut the blossom end of the apple, cut them in half, and put them in my turkey fryer kettle outside and let them cook until soft. I them used my Vittorio food mill, no peeling or coring, just turn the handle and the pulp goes into one pan and the skins, seeds and cores drop out the end. I then place it in a small electric roaster and used my old tried and true method of adding dark brown sugar, cinnamon and cloves until I felt the amounts were right. The old cooking by Gift and by Gob Method.

How is everyone this morning? I keep wondering when my nice lazy summer will happen, guess that is a pipe dream!!

I am tired of running!!

We are off to Lansing today, two trips!!

Please send a prayer for one of our dogs, she somehow hurt her back and is now on complete crate rest, steriods & muscle relaxers. Oh, did I mention she weighs 75 pounds? I hauled her around several times yesterday when she refused to get up, not that I blame her, because she is in a lot of pain.

I have come to figure out that in Michigan there is no such thing as a lazy summer. It's all hurry and get as much done as possible before it gets cold again.

Okay all you south michiganders. Time to get an umbrella out and batten down the hatches/coops. We have one heck of a storm about to roll in.

I dont watch TV so if it wasnt for online friends I wouldnt even known another bad one was coming in. We got flooded out week ago sunday...Gosh knows we dont need anymore rain here by me. The lake, dam and river are already broke and distroyed many homes, roads and bridges. Hoping this one passes us by.
