I'll check out that recipe....my sister has a pear tree and is always giving them away...

Both of my daughters are pretty much tomboys...my oldest especially...deer hunts with a bow, helps her bf with his construction biz, (she's also a school teacher) ...and loves to garden...she grew up shadowing me constantly (I miss that)....

but when she does gussy up....she's a knock out....they both are!....

do I sound a little proud? sorry.

I know what you mean about children growing up and how you miss your shadows. Fortunately, one son decided that he wanted to go into business with me so at least I get to see him. I do still miss the others. I'm extremely proud of the men they've grow to be, but somedays I wish they were still small. But only if I could also go back to the same age I was then. Little kids wear out old folks pretty quick.

Chickenlickin we are from the Monroe area. Almost neighbors.
Does everyone have some kind of plans for the long weekend. I know we have a family BBQ 3 houses down. But the rest of the weekend will be finishing new little coop, adding a roost to the main coop, due to big turkey butts

, canning more tomato juice and finishing off the gardens. Labor day weekend means work harder the summer is almost over, right?

Welcome new folks!

had to run to the grocery store...we drank 2 gallons of milk today! Didn't have enough for dinner

So we drank a couple quarts of apple cider:D

Gonna walk 6 miles again in the morning...I wish I would of kept up exersicing (weight lifting) for the 6 weeks that my friend was in Oregon (and so does she!) We are so sore, but hopefully will be better by next week.

Good Night All!
Sarah

We still have some family in the Monroe area and get there a couple times a year...

Our plans sound like yours for the weekend....working in the garden (tomatoes!)..painting the shutters.....finishing up some trim on my coop....I need to fashion a poop board, I think it will be nice to keep the coop a little cleaner...and squirrel season came in this week and I got a hankern for some squirrel gravy!

Mornin all-

Hows everyone doing this bright and early morning?? My weekend plans consist of putting up more fencing for our sheep and getting them sheered. Then the truth will come out on whether we are gonna have babies. I think both our sheep are preg!!!

Opa, speaking of hair cuts...I need one too. My son just asked me the other day why my hair is so long...did I give it magic to make it grow?

Good morning!! Wish me luck and maybe a little prayer that I can hold on to Brody instead of holding him down for his venom shots today. At 6 all he knows is that it hurt, not that they save his life.
