Living in Ohio all my life, I know what the osu-u of m game means down here...but I've been in Michigan during the msu-u of m week and it may be more of a rivalry..pretty intense up there.
And by the way, it sounds like my dad has decided to sell his place in Clare county...has a buyer already...
.. in fact the buyer just called my dad this weekend and asked if he'd sell it. This guy has been up with us grouse hunting a time or two...and has just retired....my dad is 76 yrs old and him and mom haven't made the trip much this year....and me and my wife only made it up once. My brother and me would love to buy it, but with my kids just finishing college and his just starting...money's kinda tight. Plus, I know that dad would want to give it to us...and him and mom can use the $$...makes me sad though...we love it up there.

That's awesome! We only get there once a year over my husband's birthday. He swears one day before our Jeep dies he's going to drive it on the dunes.
Maybe next year when you go we can plan on being up there too.. We'll have to stay in touch to plan this it would be fun.
I love going on the dunes. We sold the 4 seater yers ago and only have the 2 seater which needs a new starter. Kids broke it when they had it out when dad wasn't there. It was built for sand drag racing. I use to work for the summer at the drag way up there.

There is other mixed rival tailgate parties. Now if your up at the student section by the tennis courts it gets wild. My son and his friends hang out there. His girl friend goes to MSU and after she graduate later this yr then they are hoping he can go back to school.
Can only afford for one at a time to go.
We usually tailgate and take the boys around selling boy scout popcorn in the lot across from the livestock pavilon. Older nicer people. We don't kick out the rivals.

Hey Boyd you should bring the family its a great time. You can have fun with all the games people are playing. Cook food share food and the kids can make a killing gathering bottles and cans.
Carter and Sam usually did very well. Where else can you go to a parking lot and have great fun and its cheap with a family anymore.
I should mention I plan on going to the MSU- michign game on Oct 3 unless my son and his girls friend have the baby she is due on Oct 1. She has already told the doctor either she has it the end of Sept or after Oct 3 as she is not missing the game. They have season tickets.

Thanks for the welcome Boyd - I've been enjoying some of your threads.
Babszoo - I think I know what you mean about having fun with fans of both teams tailgaiting...but one of my daughters went to OSu...and I wouldn't feel too comfortable wearing maize and blue down there..and not just on game day!
