I have an insulated coop with a radiator heater- keeps it nice and warm. Its as much for me as it is for the chickens. I feel better knowing they have a warm house.

You know, if you stop heating their Paris Hilton penthouse suite they'd spend more time outside and less pooping where you have to clean it up.
sure was slippery this morning. What a sight to see me trying to haul water on ice. The ducks were sliding around...I was sliding. I did surprisingly better with a full bucket in hand than I did when it was empty.
I just went to Home Depot and bought a bunch of Saf-t-salt and sprinkled it all over my path. We shall see what comes of that.
Isn't this time of year great? I've been spread out with my seed catalogs, laptop, and garden notebook complete with post-its and highlighters for two days. I think I enjoy the prepping and planning season as much, if not more than, the actual growing season.
