Thanks and best of luck on the O-Shamo eggs. Mine too is a semi secret backyard flock so I don't have any boys residing at my place either.

Welcome to all the newer Michigan Peeps,
Its always nice to see new people on this thread. I do a lot of reading of this thread but not a lot of typing

I am currently trying to hatch out my frist batch of Dominique eggs from my girls but between heating my house with wood (the temp in the house is not very stable) and power outages I am not holding my breath. I will be shocked

if one or two hatch.

Hello and Welcome Farmer Andy. Please be sure to check out the link in my siggy about the upcoming Michigan Chickenstock. I kind of wanted a NN but DH said a definite "No" to that one

Mom2, I would like to see a pic of those Bad Boys too.

wishtofish, have you tried dipping the chicks beaks in the water? I was thinking about getting some of those warmers for the chicks I am going to order. It's great that they made it there safe and sound.

Hey Obsessed, your DH is missing out. I had seen a few pictures before and really wasn't that interested. After getting my NN that was supposed to be a BO I have never looked back. Quite a head turner for friends and family not familiar with chickens. And the bonus is this girl lays the biggest egg you have ever seen, sometimes making it hard to get the carton shut. Mine is the buff color and I would love to add a few more colors. I did check out the chicken stock thread and am very interested in attending, however I will have to tweak my work schedule. Also checked out the who's bringing what and didn't see any NN's but I'll keep looking. Thanks

Hi all! I'm over by Ann Arbor, and found this thread, will be reading up. I have mostly Indian Runners and Buckeye Chickens for the birds. Let see, I have some cochins, pekin ducks, rouns, some chickens from tractor supply, but I really like my Bantam chickens best (second to my runners!).

We feed organic and free range the birds. Also have goats - Nigerians and a couple Alpine and some Alpine/Nigerian crosses.

Hope to learn more by being here!

Hey Laughing Duck, I'm rather surprised you would admit to having Buckeyes while living in Ann Arbor. One would think they may run you out of town on the next chicken wing charter flight. Just kidding
