I just recieved a used incubator and egg turner. Ive not figured out how to regulate the temp yet so I will have to hold off until I understand that piece of it. Plus the egg tuner only came with the quail egg attachments.

You know what? I'm actually OK with not running an incubator or having baby chicks... until Chickenstock that is! The only birds I want are Welsummers and I think a few of you are bringing those. They are the only birds I'm looking for now! That and geese... I want a few of those too...

So geese and wellies then I'm done. I mean it!

But maybe I should incubate a few BCMs for chickenstock.. just in case someone wants them.. and maybe a few cute barnyard mixes because those are always fun..

oh heck.

Noooooo.. I can't! DH already thinks we seriously have 100 chickens! He even tried to defeat me with human math! psshhh..

But IF I did incubate.. I'd have to do it in secret.. I could put the incubator in my spare bedroom's closet and he'd never know!! (until 21 days later)

I think I could so get away with it! I have been getting too many eggs from the ladies lately and not selling as many.. Might as well put them to use! Can't waste an egg now can we?

Wow, this day only got better as time went on!

Took a ride into Mason to get feed and the Sav-A-Lot there that's been closed for a while re-opened on Wednesday. We never could figure out why they'd be dumb enough to close. So we went in to get some of my favorite stuff and found Eckrich hot dogs for .99. Picked up $10 worth to freeze because well, the chickens and ducks are spoiled lol Lately Bella has been into grapes, tomatoes, apples and especially carrots and bananas so had to stock up on those too. She's funny how she can be dead asleep and she must hear my foosteps underneath all the straw she buries herself under at night and she'll come running because every morning I have a small handful of something for her before feed. Got the big ducks their grape tomatoes, the little calls frozen corn and peas and the little almost 1 week old ducklings had their first floating smashed peas and LOVED it!!! A love watching ducklings try something new it's comical!

On the way out Aric asked if any of it was for us and when I said yes he asked if he had to eat in the barn too

Boy, you better watch it if you come to Chickenstock, I just might have to leave five BCM roosters in your car.
