If you had Delawares or Chantecler's I'd help ya out, paid for of course, but don't seem to be able to find what I'm seeking. Good luck to you, with placing your animals and with your neighbor in the future. We women can be wierd sometimes....

There is some construction in the area. Best way to get to the northwest corner of the lansing area coming west on 96 is to take it all the way around to the grand river exit (not the saginaw exit, construction there and saginaw is one way in the wrong direction). Take the Grand River exit off 69\\96 on the northwest edge of Lansing instead of the Saginaw exit (it is the next exit north of Saginaw). Go east to Ingersoll road, then Right (south) to Delta River Drive. Jog over to the right to Webster Road, cross the river, then turn left on Old River Trail. Piece of cake, and avoids construction on Saginaw.

Oh geez RaZ, I'm so sorry to hear that. Neighbors can be hard to live with, especially if you have animals. That's why I have always lived in the country with neighbors as far away as possible. Except where I live now. I have 5 acres, but it's deeper than it is wide. In the summer I can't see any houses because of the woods between us, there is a huge gravel pit across the road and I have a mile of woods behind my house, but I can hear my neighbors on the sides and they can hear my roosters. The good thing is they both are very much animal people, have dogs and love my chickens. I talked to them before I got my roosters and they were fine with it. In fact both neighbors take turns helping me if I need someone to "chicken sit" if I'm gone over night for any reason and they bring over kitchen scraps for them all the time. Of course they will both get free eggs when the chickens start laying. My totally ideal situation would be what Fife has. How I envy her, but she's right, it's hard to get help when you need it when you live that far out. Please keep us posted on the situation RaZ, we're all rooting for you.

Chickmate I should also add that the mailman does not come to our home----even in the summer. We walk 1 mile round trip to get our mail....sometimes in winter I ski to mailbox! We COULD use ATV or snowmobile however if we get too decripit:D There is NO perfect spot;)
