BF, myself and a friend might go.
Our friend is looking for ducks and/or geese for processing, would he find any at the swap and if so how much might he end up paying for them?

I know, I told the cops the only gun I had was a watergun, and He said I couldn't do that either, cuz its assualt...
Yes Olive, I know, I am the adult, or supposed to be. I was just SO VERY TICKED OFF! Did I learn a lesson? Well, I guess. DO I feel bad for threatening the little turds? Heck NO. Would I do it again? No, But I would jump in my car and chase their little rear ends all the way to their house and beat the crap out of their mother with a vocal whipping! Then go to their apt manager and tell them that the kids in that apt are being destructive to neighboring properties and try and get them kicked out. Half a mind to follow them home next time I see them and duct tape their doors shut so they can't get out. I am a redneck hillbilly thru and thru. I know how to use duct tape and use it well.
Now that would be a funny thing to explain in an interview.
Interviewer: "So I've seen you've been arrested for assult? What happened there?"
Me: "Well what had happened was...."

That's the truth, however, there are many birds of prey that simply do not attack larger animals than themselves. I'm sure any animal driven to hunger will kill. Since these birds are protected the only recourse is to ensure a tight enclosure. You can't even own a feather from one of those birds let alone harm one (feather)
Anyway, I'm more concerned with the domestic sort of problem like cats and dogs that run as free as the wind here in the country. I went out to my coop yesterday and there was a cat sitting next to my new hens just watching and waiting...
Hey guys, I need help, posted in the injury area also, one of my roosters has a swollen foot pad, there is no black spot as with bumble foot I think I have some trimectin on had, don't know if that will help or if I should try to soak in peroxide? I can't see any injury he is holding it up some and it seems worse then last night. He is 3 1/2 looks healthy otherwise
We also have cooper hawks,
so I have gone over the bumble foot sight, do you think the soft white tape will work as well as vet tape? I'm thinking I will cut his foot tonight even though there is no black spot. if it is swollen there must be an infection

Chickflick had good luck soaking with epson salts. She didnt open the foot but I think there was a black scab. That probably flaoted off and opened the foot so the salts could work. She didnt wrap the foot just kept the hen on clean shavings in her brooder.

The only other swap I've been to was Imlay city in spring which had lots of birds. Someone told me Montrose is a big swap with great prices.
I just got 2 silkie roos... Will post pics ASAP. I might end up having to rehome, but, the needed a place to go, and needed it now. They are 5 months old... Maybe i should just get some hens for them... HMMMM... Well anyway, I have them seperated from my flock for a little while... They've never had to climb a ramp... so, going to be interesting to see if they can figure it out... They are HUGE boys. I hope they will like it here...
Any opinions on having 5 silkie roos together? Think they will fight too much? They are only 5 mo and going on 5 months....
