nope, not a one, 27 weeks old now. slackers!!

They are totally freeloaders! I hope both our girls start laying soon, I want my first egg soooo badly!

We have a TSC opening 25 miles away in December, all the good deals you talk about and products I can never find, I'm excited.

Raz - envious of the thought of keeping chickens in part of the garage. Our garage isn't finished yet but I asked my husband if I could have a corner for a dog crate for injured chickens and was told NO!

Yea for women builders! Looks good, I wish I could do a better job. Instead of measure twice and cut once I measure three times and still end up cutting three times.

I also have a protest. Here's the story. My son's rooster costume was for a 4 -H event. Everyone was supposed to come in costume so I dug out an old renaissance dress to wear. I finally got it laced up and on right when I realized I hadn't put the chickens in. So I left off the head piece and slipped on my crocs to run out to the coop. Unbeknowst to me, my husband followed me with the camera. He took a bunch of pictures claiming it was evidence of "crazy chicken lady behavior". My protest is that wearing a dress that requires a crinoline, laces and tied on sleeves to the coop does not make you crazy. Taking the time to take all those layers off just to tuck the chickens in would be crazier! ....Or maybe it is just a little crazy....

I have a couple of Heritage Barred Rocks that are 30 weeks old. They don't even look like they are anywhere ready to lay.

Anyone interested in a stray cat? He showed up a few days ago and is declawed. I can not keep the big guy, I have to many indoor cats as it is and too many dogs.

I really hope that he gets claimed soon. I put him on craigslist under lost and found. Only one person answered, and it turned out not to be their cat. I hate the idea that some one threw him/her out. Its very sweet, and doesn't bother the chickens and its terrified of cars so I don't think It'll get hit... BUT, HE'S DECLAWED! How can he defend himself against the coons/fox/whatever...
