Olive, my oldest son saw your turkey and wanted to know what it was. He's seen wild turkeys, but never a domestic breed. He thinks its really cool and now he wants one... So... THANKS! Now he wants a turkey cuz your's is so cool, but we can't eat it! OMG... I guess that rules out eating Oscar if he keeps being a butt....

4:00 pm and the girls are taking up roost spots. Seems like none of us like these early nightfalls.

Nope... I sure don't. With it being dark by 6, my boys get real bored real quick... And being that we are on a tight budget, its not like I can afford to take them to play places... Total bummer...

I read an article about it on CNET while I was traveling.

My girlies laid 10 eggs today! WOOT! I am so proud of them. They are getting back up there. I am super tired ....getting up at 4am in the morning to catch a plane two days in a row is brutal on the body I tell ya....

Today was certainly an off day. Only 2 eggs today. Both early in the morning.
That observation hive looks very strange. I'm going to have to do some research on that.

Ok... its official... Oscar, he needs a lesson in proper mating form.. He's injured my little silkie girl Leila. He pulled the feathers on her scalp and there was a bit of blood. Poor girly. Leila and Roger are getting their own coop and run tomorrow. OR Does any one want to train my 3 pound stud butt head not to be so... STUPID! ARGH!

I got one egg today... Tonight the girls were doing a very loud egg song outside of the coop, and I looked to see if one of them laid there, but nope... just singing very LOUDLY! Was really funny actually.

That picture is exactly what you probably think it is. Pullet and a turkey getting intimate. He, er, took advantage of her squat since not a second before, a cockerel was serving her. I feel the turkey is going to head to freezer camp soon!
