Just got back from lunch with Rose and Kristen - what a lovely time we had, and goodness, what sweet ladies!
We've lunched before, but I guess I was left with such a warm feeling after, I wanted to let you all know that if anyone on this thread is ever in the Flint area, DO send me a note - I love to meet BYCers!
Had a great time, and the time went so fast. Hope you didn't get in trouble for your "extended" lunch. We must do it more often. It's great to sit and talk about chickens without people rolling their eyes at ya.
It's a cool and windy day out there. At least the sun is out. Enjoy, people!

Went to Blackstones in Flint. The downtown area is looking great and people were everywhere. Didnt see the wind blow anybody over but it was kicking!!

Heading up to Port Hope tomorrow morning, to the family's farm. We are going to be hunting this weekend. My hubby is outnumbered. It will be me, and 11 and 14 year old, both girls. lol I am soooooo excited though! I get to see my beautiful roo Tempest!

Are you raising any Jersey Giants for sale? I'm thinking that I have room for just a few more birds.
The dark chocolate eggs of the Copper Marans fascinate me for some reason.
Perhaps chicken math is at work here.
ChickwannaB....way to go!!! Meat in the freezer I'm saying!!
I am going to attempt another picture (from yesterday) of my big boy Max...he is part English Orpington and part American. I may even get some pics I took yesterday of my splash jerseys on here. The orps are now in their 7th month and I finally got my 2nd egg from Matilda...Max's main squeeze. No one else has plunked out an egg.
Raz...it is a great idea to read up on bio security. I thought putting new chickens into separate pens was having them in quarantine. WRONG. Mine were 20 feet away. They should be Far , far away and then change clothes and disinfect shoes if you want to integrate your flock with newbies.
