Had a great lunch!
Went to Blackstones in Flint. The downtown area is looking great and people were everywhere. Didnt see the wind blow anybody over but it was kicking!!

Okay, cute chicken story. So we're getting done eating, and Rose grabs my plate & dumps my leftovers on HER plate. Waitress comes back and takes her plate and Rose grabs her arm and says, "NO! I need a 'to-go' box - these are chicken leftovers!" the waitress paused and said, "I can't say I've heard THAT one before!" HA!

Oh, did you want your leftovers for your chickens????

My daughter works in a drs office and they save their leftovers for me too. Get lots of good stuff, especially when they have their drug rep luncheons. My other daughter saves her leftovers also. Mine are very spoiled chickens.

Angela, next time we'll need to all get together and have lunch with Wynette. It'll be lots of fun.

Sounds like fun!

According to Chickflicks hubby, Handy Dick, my tire on my tractor has to be replaced. I got one load of manure moved to the compost pile out back and then it was flat again. So screw it the is tire shot away so I moved a second load.
Nothing makes me happier than empty manure buckets!!!!

this afternoon we hung them up and got them both skinned. As soon as my son can come help we'll start cutting meat off the bones and packaging. My husbands hands cramp up bad from his diuretic.

Okay, I never thought I would say this, but I must really love my chickens....lmao

I let my silkies out of the cage for a little while so they could run around a little. The littlest one, had a run in with my brahma, so I carried her around for awhile. Then put her back and locked it up, so the Brahma couldn't get her. The bigger silkie, Nevermore, was outside and they really didn't give her too much trouble. So, I sat outside in the pen with her, in the freezing wind, so she could scratch and peck around. She was pretty safe, since the others had already went to roost. I was sitting there thinking, "I must be crazy! I am freezing and sitting here waiting for her to get some running around done." I have a little cubby set up for her to run too, once they are finished integrating. So I kept putting her in it, so she will know what it is when the time comes. I swear, people (non chicken owners) must think I am nuts!

You haven't had it the right way then! It tastes like beef in chili and stew, if a little beef flavor is added, and the tenderloin is like a super tender steak if cooked right- i can't do it but my hubby can! My stepmom cans hers with beef fat, and makes my dad stew with it on a regular basis; she asked him while he was eating the stew in front of me "you don't like venison, do you? -nope. bite. Do you like the stew tonight? -ya it's really good! "
