You haven't had it the right way then! It tastes like beef in chili and stew, if a little beef flavor is added, and the tenderloin is like a super tender steak if cooked right- i can't do it but my hubby can! My stepmom cans hers with beef fat, and makes my dad stew with it on a regular basis; she asked him while he was eating the stew in front of me "you don't like venison, do you? -nope. bite. Do you like the stew tonight? -ya it's really good! "

I agree! I know people that say they hate it, then eat some of the dishes we make and then love it! We make alot of fajitas with our backstraps and tenderloins. Also, we make our own summer sausage and lots of jerky. We grind some to use for tacos, etc.

No matter how my mom makes a meal out of venison, I can taste it through the chili spice.

My family are not really venison eaters, just my dad and two older brothers likes them, maybe few sisters and a younger brother. The rest of us, no.

The only way I ever found to eat venison without the game taste was to add beef bouillion to it to make it taste more like regular beef. Otherwise, like you, I don't like it.

You don't know what you're missing!! If it is a deer that has the opportunity to eat well, if it's cleaned, skinned properly, all the tallow removed, and cooked slowly...It's delicious....Especially the back-straps!!

Nothing like a good laugh. Who else would even see the humor in chicken groping!

Nova - My roosters all love doing the egg song to throw me off. They also make nice nests for the girls and try to coax them in.

ChicwannaB - I am very envious! I didn't get a doe tag this year. We are almost out of beef in the freezer with no one butchering soon and no pork till December so hopefullly..... You would think between my husband, son and I we could get one!

AngelaB - if that make you crazy I guess I'm with you! Sometimes I think I'd rather spend time with my chickens than the family... not as much fussing, whining, complaining and absolutely no back talk involved!

As for eating food that is different from what one is used to, it can have a huge "eww" factor.
I am always amazed at people who eat at fast food places everyday but turn their noses up at me for eating what I kill. If they only knew what was in that burger or salad.

I've traveled to many places and I always try the local cuisine. Never have I had a bad meal.
Some things I won't try again but more often than not, I've had fantastic meals.

Like I said before, if it's made of meat, I'll try it. Vegetables? Not so much.
