I was just playing around with some numbers (trying to get a jump on the new semester) and came up with some trivia...

First post on this thread was 01/24/07.

It took 270 days to reach 100 posts.

We reached 1000 pages (10,000 posts) on 10/09/09.

Then it took nearly 2 years to double that (20,000 on 05/28/2011).

We hit 3000 pages on NYE which was only 217 days from the previous milestone.

Going back from today to the original post date, we are averaging 20.9 posts per day.
In 2011 we were posting at the rate of 36.78 per day!

I think we need a contest to guess when we reach 4000 and 5000 pages. Perhaps guess the number of posts for Chickenstock.

& Welcome! I am located near Newaygo. I am planning on hatching a few for the first time and I have BA's that are laying. I also have BR's but they quit laying

However I do not sex them. Have you heard of Townline Hatcheries? They are in Zeeland. Also a small suggestion, you say you only want 4 chicks? Beware of chicken math!

How about trying to scientifically explain "chicken math".

That's one beautiful rooster!!
For 2011, my hens laid 3137 eggs. Sam, haven't seen your count.
Nasty outside. Cold and quite windy. Keeping chickens in. I have a near nekked buttercup. She's been hanging in the nest boxes spiltting her time amoung the two broodies. Not so dumb.
Looked online and didn't see a place to reserve the pavillion. I'll be in Wed. so no worries. Gives us something to look froward to, Chickenstock, that is. It's always lots of fun and great meeting new people and seeing old friends. Love seeing all the different breeds of chickens and other fowl. Even the bunnies.

My flock produced 1002 fewer eggs this year than last. 2553 was the total for 2011 but my flock is 10 birds less and the majority of my birds are heading for the soup pot due to their age. Wow, I just just realized it might be said that I am in my soup pot years.
