Did anyone see the news about some family down in Allegany who went to Tennessee for job hunt, came home to find their home completely emptied, well near emptied... That is so sad. Already they are struggling only to be robbed like that...

We would love to have the story told, CR.

Hey guys, maybe at chickenstock, we can make up a list with names and e mails. For those who want to, of course.

I think it would be a good idea. Hopefully we'll never need to them for a crisis situation.

Thanks for telling the story CR. Welcome totalcolour, glad you decided to check in with us too.

CR watch out for that Yorkchick, we've caught her lurking in some pretty shady places.

P.S. How in Gods name did you have the time to read 2 busy, busy threads? I can barely keep up with ours, but I also work part time.
You may very well ask that question, M.sue. Currently I am managing to stay employed despite my little BYC obsession. My name is yorkchick and I am a BYC addict. Oh, it started innocently enough. I did a lot of heavy research before I got my first chicks in May 2008. Read a ton here on BYC but felt no burning need to post, as "search" pretty well found me an answer to all my questions and I certainly didn't know enough to help anyone else. Eventually, in September 2008, I registered as a user, but didn't make a first post until February 2010--and only then because I got an e-mail from BYC telling me to stop lurking already and post something! But that was my first and only post for a long time. Then last year I was trying to work up the courage to go to Chickenstock. I started reading the Michigan thread, and quickly realized, here's a great group of people, small enough so you get to know individuals, very helpful... My first actual post on the MI thread was May 2011. Do you see how this thing creeps up on you? Now one thread is NOT ENOUGH. I'd like to say my housework has suffered, but that would be a lie, as I never did a lot to begin with... OK, my e-mail and my TV watching and my novel reading has suffered. Boo hoo.

It's a running joke here that DH could weld me anything I want, but it's going to be mighty heavy when he's done. So most things I either have to be okay with them being crooked, or I have to hire them built. He's a heck of a welder, but not much of a builder. LOL!

I can relate to that. See I am a certified welder and at my last job I built bomb disposal / transport trailers. For Law Enforcement and Military. Rated for 20# of C-4 or 33 sticks of 60% tnt good for multiple blasts.

He's Alive!!!

My poor roo Frenchie was just attacked! My kids came running to my room saying they were hearing a chicken screaming from where they were in the living room. I ran outside with a flashlight hoping they were only hearing the roos going off for whatever reason, but no. When I got to the bantams, I found 5 of them and 2 great big piles of feathers (no blood, just feather). I have to tell you my heart sank when I saw those feathers. I flashed back to when we lost Frenchie's sister, Muffin and wondered if a skunk found a way in again. I was able to track the feathers about halfway across the yard before losing them. So my youngest daughter and I started systematically going over all the yard even though it's dark and raining. I warned her if we found him he would most likely be dead. I was about to give up and was on the other side of the yard when we both heard some clucky noises. She ran over to our side deck and there he was! He was on the deck and so scared. I was able to get him and we brought him inside. I looked him over, but minus the feather loss he looks fine. We've got him in a dog carrier with a nice warm blanket and a cuddly toy to keep him company. I'm going to keep him inside tonight so he can calm down and get dry. I don't know what attacked him, but thank goodness whatever it was wasn't able to finish the deed.

hello everyone..

I just came on to tell you all goodnight.

I actually had mustered up enough energy to chat for a minute, but then I just read all the pages since this morning, and now I am plum-tuckered out.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I'll be back in seven hours to start it all again.

Yorkchick-

I would have never guessed you were a BYC stalker for so long- here I thought you were ohsoinnocent.
Just goes to show...you never really know what skeletons someone may have in their closet...er, eggshells in their closet..
Go give Henry a goodnight kiss for me.

Raz-
I will sleep enough for all of us tonight- as soon as my head hits the pillow...and I find a place to put my shoulder so it doesnt hurt.
COMA time.
Its been work-then parent/teacher conferences/then gymnastics for two days, and I am training TWO people at work at the SAME time, and my dog was spayed two days ago and had a reaction to her vaccines she got at the same time, plus she hurts *she says they used a chainsaw* and she is only 2 and a half pounds so she is pathetic- kind of week for me.
It has caught up.
I remember I was sick/hurting over the weekend, so that means the weekend didnt count, and I am ready for a 'do-over'. I was very excited that I have the weekend off and I JUST NOW remembered that I have to work on Saturday. *SIGH*

Anyhow...Hope you are all ok YAY for the yay moments I read, and welcome to the new folk- and glad to see you back, Farmer Andy- I dont think you have been here for a few days..
AND SAM!!!!!!!!!!!! I was considering the hens you said you would have to rehome because their production is down... I think you should post a list and then bring them to Chicken Stock..I think I could take pity on one of OPA's chickens (thats like celebrity status) and name it Ms. Prissy...and I bet others would like to own an icon's chicken. Sort of like having an autograph by a celebrity...*could you sign my chicken?*.
...anyhooo...there's the proof that my brain has gone to bed before my body, so now I will go...
