tee, those cats are not stupid. They will not bother that possum, and as long as the possum is eating cat food, its not eating your chickens.

And of possums, I used to have one that lived in the arborvitae outside my front porch when I lived in town. It would come down and eat cat food along with the outdoor cats. Side by side. Was the cutest thing. It never attacked the cats or kittens. Was never a problem. It was around for about 2 years and then just gone one day.

Well, I wanted to share a photo this morning, but my camera just refuses to upload to my computer. I need a newer model, but DH is being such a hold-out about it. Anyway, I was getting ready to go to bed last night and was checking the doors and looked out into the mudroom where the outdoor cats sleep at night and found a surprise visitor. There was a big possum in there just making himself at home. I watched him for a bit as he had some dinner and tried out the cat bed. Mind you, 2 of the cats were out there just watching him.

Um, cats, aren't you supposed to be something about this?

If I can get the photo to upload, it's the darn tree rat getting comfy in the cat bed.

Taprock & grandma- your d'uccles are so nice looking. Grandma, I'm glad you were able to have your Bobbi for as long as you did and that things turned out how you wanted with your very pretty daughter.

Going to be a wandering day. DH and I are just going to motor around and see what's what. Stop to a few TSC's maybe. I told DH about the Jersey Giants Rbahmer scored and he was ready to go for a trip, but then decided that with our luck they would be all gone before got to those stores. Oh well, we'll see.

I think I might try and stuff sugar-pie under skeeter tonight. As long as she keeps eating and drinking. Skeeter has not left the winter run at all today... I also did not get any eggs from either fowl today. The ducks didn't lay yesterday either. I think the commotion that went on in their run 2 days ago upset them very much...

When I bought my new laptop last semester, I decided to let Geek Squad do the initial set-up. It saved me a lot of time getting rid of the junk that new computers come with. My only problem was getting hooked up to my wireless at home. I had forgotten what the password was to get logged in to the network.
Then there was each and every site has it's own log-in and password, so now I've made a notebook of them with addys, log-ins and password.

I thought computers were supposed to save us frustration, paper, time, etc.

Funny you posted this where/when you did. I'm having the same problem, except I have no idea about the number required to access the web. I'm so cheep I usually do not have jobs like setting up the new electronics done by people who know how.(which I do not) This in spite of the fact that "It" gets screwed up so often. Actually I screw it up.

Were I a lesser man, I might at times agree with my wife and hire someone to do their job.

What to my wondering eyes did appear Raz is piercing my heart with a spear. Oh well.
If anyone knows what my next step should be (not to hire a teckie) lemmee know. There is a Realtek Wireless 802.11 B/G/N installed in the computer. and a window showing sever available web connections comes up. Methi9nks I must sign up somehow w/ someone. who? how? Toshiba can't/won't tell me.

RaZ, I'm so sorry you lost one of the babies. The stress was just too much for him.

Speaking of ducks, I have never been a big fan of Muscovies either. They really are large birds and can fly so well! So, what do I have in my front ditch? About 20 of them! I have to admit some of them are very pretty colors. Black and white, blue, blue and white, all white, brown and white, etc. They belong to the guy who owns the gravel pit across the road and they've been coming across for the last few days now. I don't want to see them killed on the road but he's not the easiest person to deal with. Not very nice. He threatened to shoot my neighbor when she walked over onto his property a few years ago. I was told that he is pole trapping owls and hawks who are killing his ducks and chickens, but he does nothing to protect his livestock either.

This morning I see Mr. and Mrs. Mallard have arrived on my pond. They come every year and have their babies. The wood ducks should be showing up soon as well.

ummmmm we talk about chicken math well.... egg math seems to be the same. I ended up with 1 more egg than what fits in my egg turner.

There is room on the side so I will hand turn and I'm sure when I candle them I will have space.

Yes, and I'm seeing robins all over the place. The other day when I got in my car I noticed "stuff" all over my hood and windsheild. What is this? OMG, it's the little bud coverings from one of my trees! Pretty soon I'll be complaining about how hot it is and having to mow the lawn.
