When I went to pick my DD's prescription up I grabbed one of those rotisserie chickens

. I know, I can it hear it now but I'm pressed for time, have so much to get done and a sick one on the couch.
Anyway, can I give the carcass to my chickens as a treat? Will they choke on anything? We never give our dog chicken bones for that reason.

I have them on my computer program and couldn't get the pic to upload from there to here to change my avatar.

I had to stop by TSC this morning after the gym. Of course I looked in the chick bins as I went by and wouldn't you know there was a silkie in the bantam bin. Plus they just got a new shipment in so two bins were a bit crowded, I probably could have gotten a deal on the bigger ones. It took some serious self control to not bring a bunch home.
Olive - You have waaay more willpower than I do. I would have had to make them a deal LOL

They're unlikely to choke, but personally we make it a rule not to feed chicken to chicken, pork to pork, etc. Not because cannibalism is gross -- they're cannibals naturally -- but because there's more potential for pathogen transmission than when you feed by-products cross-species. It's pretty darn unlikely to be a problem with a rotisserie chicken from the store, but just something to think about in general.

Hope your daughter feels better soon.

Don't give me too much credit. I have to be out of state for most of next week so I have a whole lot of motivation to be good until I get back. Trust me... it was very tempting. The overcrowded bins were the EEs/Leghorns and the ducks... both ones I want. And I could have slipped that silkie in with the whole bunch of them. *sigh* If only I didn't have to make a living... LOL!

Ahh,, Thanks...I'm no computer wiz. I'm self taught even though I did have some computers classes years ago. Basically it's trial & error for me.

Thanks....I'll skip the carcass treat. From the looks of it there won't be anything left when I'm doing picking it, those birds are scrawny things....geesh. DD is resting, watching Driving Miss Daisy and getting her fill of ice cream and Popsicles.

One thing I've noticed about posting pictures is how they are named on your computer when you initially upload them. My camera/computer default to a date folder and numerical sequence (3-7-12\ 001,002,003 etc.) So if I want to upload photo 002 the system often picks the 002 that I posted earlier. If I rename the photos I have no issues in posting.

I even changed my avatar in case you missed it. I still like the gnome statue.

Wasn't yesterday a great day? I got a lot of chores done including getting the pump and filter running on the pond. Last night was the first time I've slept with the window open since last fall so I could hear the moving water which is the greatest lullaby. Kind if gloomy today but I have to go to school anyway.

Bad wind...farmer friend across the street lost a hay barn last night. I was headed out this AM and I saw his round bales stacked 50 feet high. At first I thought he was selling some when I realized the barn was gone. His 2 Farmalls were inside and now are surrounded by debris. Offered my help so maybe my tractor's going over to drag/move stuff. Hopefully insurance covers it because besides the barn the hay is wet now and his feeder calves, steers, and others use the stuff. On a good note I did visit TSC and came home with a bakers dozen CX's. I did resist the Pekins although it was "yes I'll take two - no maybe I'll come back tomorrow". I still need to find some new chicks for my egg flock. Off to gather more sap and get ready to boil tommorow.
