Good morning all,

Just lost power up here. Wind has really been howling for about an hour now. poor little chick in the brooder is getting cold. Time to start the generator. Incubator is full. I don't want to lose another hatch. I always end up laughing at myself when the power is out. Walking through the house flipping on light switches without thinking...

It's not a very recent picture of me.

Sure is raining hard and the wind is starting to pick up. The Lansing station is calling for a wet day and a wind advisory until 10PM. That will sure limit what I am able to do today.

I used to ride a lot and once rode from Lake Michigan to Lake Huron but I haven't kept a horse since the early 70's. Now the only time I ride is when I go to my oldest son's house. When I'm there I ride one of his several mules. I'd post a picture but you might have trouble telling which jackass is which.

Morning folks. Good thing I got quite a bit done yesterday...today looks a little damp. I woke up to tiny peeping coming from my dinning room table (where the bators are)...wait did I say tiny? I mean the sound of chicks peeping into a megaphone

it's amazing how loud something the size of a golf ball can be! I'm up to 4 now! 1 mix, 1 black and 2 splash silkies.

You won't find that stuff in this house. I've just poured the first cup of the day of Folgers Black Silk. The rich bold aroma is just what this old man needs to start the day. Fortunately the women at the baby shower didn't eat all the cake so there is still some coconut pound cake left. So grab yourself a cup of coffee and a piece of cake and we'll all be ready to face what ever the day has to offer.

Is this a recipe you can share? It sounds wonderful and I have eggs everywhere. This weekend I used a dozen, gave away 8 dozen and still have 7 dozen in cartons, ran out of cartons and now just a big bowl full.

We missed most of last nights rain, just a few drops. It sure is windy and it is sprinkling on of off now. I also had a baby shower this weekend and one again tonight. I have today to get the quilt I am making done so rain is ok. I will be forced to stay in and work, no goofing off.

Good morning Michigan, windy and a little damp here but the rain missed us (again) - getting pretty dry up here. Grass is hardly growing yet, and the fruit trees have not budded yet. Snow and 27 called for tonight, think I will leave a light on in the little chicken coop with the 5 week olds.
