Yes, you can bleach veggies by covering them, but some part of the plant is still processing sunlight. In asparagus, you can mound over the shoots to bleach them, but the ferns are still above ground and green.

My MIL and FIL used to go to Kenya every year, and they do wash all their veggies with bleach water.
 
Hello in Rogers City. I love it up there. My brother lives in Onaway. I am here in the "no you cant have those chickens" Southeastern Michigan. I have three hens who keep me supplied in yummy eggs. I hatched 5 eggs in my bator in Feb and March. I believe 4 of them to be cockerls so they cant stay but the one hen will stay. I hope to some day live where I can have 75 chickens and a Rooster too!
