... they had Weihenstephaner on tap, which is a brewery in Bayern (Bavaria) (oldest brewery in the world 1390 I think). I was very pleasantly surprised.
This is so cool! Hard to imagine something being "in business" for so long. Love it.

It's 6 foot tall, Crabby is 5'2" so she'll never be able to get her nose over the fence. LOL I should have done that when she first showed signs of menopause.
Haha!!

You know, I might have taken you up on that if you were in town. I hate mowing the grass, it takes me absolutely forever... cause... I just can't knowingly run over anything. Omg another tiny white moth, I have to stop and get it out of the way. Holy *$#^ was that a grasshopper? I better stop the mower again and check. Aw boogers, where did that spider I just saw go? Now I have to check again

Do you really do this? You are so crazy girl. Now wonder it takes you forever!! :)

IDing flowers can get tricky. I've had several taxonomy classes and it is always a challenge. We were always quizzed on the Genus, species, family and common name. We had to get them all correct in order to get full credit. These 2 were especially difficult for me as they are in the Buttercup family (Ranunculaceae) not true Anemone family. Prof was tough, if we misspelled the names, he deducted a 1/4 point for each error.
My least favorite was always the Asteraceae family. They (for me) are super hard to indentify.

I also saw bluebirds on my way to MBG the last 2 weeks.
For those of you lucky enough to have them near, would anyone want me to make some bluebird houses? Same with wood duck houses or bat houses.
There's a bunch of those evil little bluebirds around my yard. They are so cute and fun to watch but they always divebomb the crap out of anyone/anything that's nearby.

Paint it grey and call it "Stone Hens".

Or paint it gray, paint psychedelic chickens on it and call it STONED HENS.
These ideas are great!!

So I have a funny story. Well I think it's funny anyway, sort of.

Remember how I've been talking about the mice we keep getting, and that we seemed to have the smartest mice ever a while back? Things would eat the peanut butter right off the traps and leave them untripped. We figured they were laughing at the stupid humans for being so naive about catching mice. So we got the old school wood and wire snap traps, and they did the same thing! Those things trip when you set them on the dang floor, but they somehow managed to lick them clean (and I mean clean, not a BIT of PB left on them) without setting them off. The one we caught last week was still alive, clamped on the trap, and STILL eating the peanut butter. Must have been good stuff.

So same thing started happening again this week. We decided to get glue traps. I think these are pretty inhumane (what a crappy way to die) since I can't imagine being stuck to something like that. Anyway, so we caught one...I left early in the morning and checked the glue, sure enough, there was a mouse stuck by one foot. I didn't have time to deal with it, nor did I really want to, so I left a note for BF: "there's a mouse in the glue."

He told me later that after he did the "wet work" and deceased the rodent, he set the glue trap outside on the porch for whatever reason. When he came back to dispose of it, the entire thing was gone! I bet there is a stupid cat running around the neighborhood now with a glue trap stuck to its face. And that makes me laugh thinking about it.

The following montage is with Chickadees and the parents can get pretty feisty guarding their nest. I won them over with mealworms and they learned to trust me. So the day that the 5 babies took flight, I was there to give them a landing pad.

Grosebeaks were in the feeder this morning. Have not seen the hummers yet. Guess based on what your FIL saw I'll break out the feeders. Also, get some oranges out for the oriles. Did see some buebirds, and the best part - we have a pair of pilated woodpeckers nesting in our back 40 where the wetlands are!
A friend of the in laws saw an Oriole today too. I have had some bluebirds make their home in one of the birdhouses we have. DH said that we have at least three piliated woodpeckers around here.
I need some help in naming my coop. It's an old hunting shack. Which ever name I pick I will send the name creator a set of chicken aprons. So help me out, here's the picture of it again there will be some changes to it soon I am going to paint it a nice soft shade of blue for the sky the window will have a flower box my daughter and I will be painting some funky chickens all around it. I can't wait for the weather to change up here so I can get my butt outside and work on my yard! This used to be called the "Love Shack", and no I had nothing to do with that name, hehehe
What about The Funky Chicken Shack?

Mom, I sent you a PM.

A nice couple, and their 4 rugrats, stopped by last night to pick out a breeding pair (FGs) and when I said which ones they replied "all of them". I never have a problem selling my rabbits but usually one, or two, at a time.
awwww
:(
Its okay- I am a firm believer in fate and whats meant to be. You sold all your babies and someone brought me a lop today with a tattooed ear that was found as a "stray". She is beautiful. Not the kind of bunny I wanted, but then again, I rarely get to pick out the kind of any animal that I want (even had to create my own Uggos).
I have no idea what the tattoo in her ear means- it says BF 3 or Maybe its an 8 or maybe its another B. Anyone know what it means?
No idea how old she is, or if she is bred/spayed/not . Her coat is so clean and shiny and spectacular.
Anyhow she is extremely tame, and can be handled with no problems.

I'm going to have to rent them back from you or something. Was just realizing today that I'm either going to have to break out the lawn mower or risk losing the puppy next time I take him out to pee.

There's a club in Chicago called The Funky Buddha Lounge. Maybe the Funky Chicken Lounge?

ETA: If you choose Funky Chicken Lounge send the aprons to HH. Funky Chicken ... was her idea and I won't use them. :)

It would give me an incentive to clear out the garage and find my woodshop again.
