Opa, praying a safe arrival for the twins.

Juise, modesty is overrated when crawly things are involved.

Good Morning!

I dropped off the meaties last night. The guy who helped me get them out of the car laughed at how big and heavy they were.

He had to use his big man muscles to get my FOUR birds out of my car.

Heck, I was sweating trying to put them in there! I know once that 24hr mark hits I will feel my muscles screaming at me.

I also picked up duck eggs from Nova and I will back her up on her assessment of her roo. He's...quite an odd mix. :: chuckles ::

Friends are posting about various states of flooding near or in Flint. At least my friend doesn't have to be anywhere today and her husband is safely at work.

We were visited by the ordinance officer last week (the creepy car hovering near the bus stop and staring at me as I herded my kids inside) and now we are in trouble. Since chickens aren't allowed in my residential zone and this is the first time we've had a complaint about anything we're stuck. A family member next door had chickens for 8 years and once a weasel got them she closed up the coop. Now I have to figure out how to hide the 5 ducks and 14 chickens somewhere until we can move. I don't think they will allow them temporarily.

Opa: Congrats! Sending our best for a safe, healthy family.

Juise: Crossing my fingers for you.

EMAW: I wish! Here we might have enough room but the house we made an offer on is only a half acre so not enough room to meet the needs of such an active dog. If I ever get that little farm I am dreaming of I will let you know :)

Bianca: That makes my skin crawl too. You have more foresight than me- I think I would have dove for the house with my pants still on. Sometimes I am not the brightest bulb.

This morning DH told me something took our bird feeder and smashed it to pieces during the night. We assumed it was a coon. My neighbor/mother in law just called and said she saw a bear last night and it destroyed their feeder. She said she got a good look at it too, since they have a mercury light, and that it was a big black bear. So now I am thinking that we did not have a coon here last night. Guess I will set out the trail cam. And make sure DH carries a gun with him when he takes his walks around the property.

, the dogs are my uncles "job". They are really amazing dog's but she is never sure what he may come home with in trade vs. cash. So far the last time I checked they were up 4 horses, 2 cows and a couple goats....she was not very happy about the horse trades.

Heck a 1/2 acre fenced with a herding job every night it might just work....

TGIF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :weee

Opa, prayers for the twins arrival and safe travels for Hope.

Olive, my uncle is the one with the border collies, he does puppies to fully trained adults just let me know if you or anyone else ever wants another.  My aunt keeps trying to put one or six of the puppies in my car when I am not looking, for the kids of course.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I need a border Collie!!!!!!!!! Our German Shepard/Black lab is worthless!!!! :he She won't do anything with the cows! :barnie Really, I would love to get one after Bella had decided that it her turn to escape. :barnie It was at Wednesday, and I was working on a post here, when my mom ran into the room saying that Bella got out and she got her into the garden. So, I ran out, grabbed 3 apples to lure Bella. My youngest sister ran to help too. After several attempts to get her to the side gate, she loped out of the garden heading to the front yard to the road. I ran as fast I could to head her off before she got to the road, she almost got to the road, head her off, but she turned to the neighbor's that had threatened to call the cops the next time the calves get out, ran fast again to head her off in the brambles, got her where I want her to go, but I had to run across on the crabby neighbor's yard, and their bird dog was chasing me barking. I yelled back at the dog ''Knock it off buddy!!!'' I heard the neighbor yelling, not sure if he was yelling at me or at his dog, but ran on through the brambles to keep Bella where I want her to go. She kept going in field in the direction to the woods, I tried calling my mom, so she can have one of my siblings to open the gate by the woods, so I can get her through there. But she didn't answer. Gah!!! But saw my youngest sister, hollered at her to open the gate. Bella went into the woods, the most wildest part, I had to scramble over the logs, vines and jumped over the creek to head her off, and turn her around then repeat- scrambling over the logs, vines and jumped over the creek, got my pant leg sagged by an old barb wire that was part of a cattle pasture 30 plus years ago. Got her up on the field, she jumped over the 2nd pasture fence, at that time my mom had gotten some of my other siblings out, and they had gotten the gate by the woods opened. They were standing by the gate not sure what to do, I yelled at my siblings ''get away from the gate!!'' at least 4 times, they moved away, and Bella walked right into the main pasture. As soon I saw Bella walking through the gate, I fell in a heap, not able to move in about 5 minutes, I was beat. I have never ran so hard in my life! But I had to leave to work in 15 minutes. :th Too tired, but went anyway.

When I got back home, my siblings told me that the crabby neighbor had called the cops! Even though I had the situation under control?!!! :th :barnie :he  I was racking my brain trying to think how she escaped, for the fence looked good, the charger is ticking. I came up two causes- the wind blew open the unlatched gate by the cow shed and she walked through it or she went under the gate to the pasture that is missing the bottom wire. I looked by the cow shed and found hoof prints and lots of mowed grass by the breeder coop that is by the cow shed, so yep, the wind blew open the gate, and she walked through it.

Picture from our front porch facing the crabby neighbor's house. Bella ran through here, the road is on the left of the picture. Crabby's house is on the other side of the brambles. The land between us has been let go to bush by the owner who lives in the city, and is for sale. I so want to buy that 20 acres land, but have no money. :hit We only have 5 acres. :/

Sorry about your feeder, but neat about the bear. When we were working on our house out here there was a bear in the area. Of course everything was mud from all the machinery and when we'd come out in the morning there would be bear tracks all over the place. It was very cool. It crossed the road in front of my car one night with a cub. Hasn't been another sighting in this area since that time though and that was 9 years ago.

Hehehe. Too funny. I'll definitely keep that in mind. This puppy puts us at FOUR

dogs. Which is more than enough for me at this time. My two farm dogs are older though and relatively worthless for anything other than holding the rug down, hence the timing of the puppy. I doubt they'll be around more than another couple of years, so the plan is to get this BC some help once they're gone. All in good time...
