Hi everyone, been sooooooo busy with getting everything ready for the chicks arrivel. My son made my brooder it's 4ft by 4ft with 18" sides. I got up at 3:30 to check to see what the temp was and it was only 85, it was 90 when I went to bed. I don't use a furnace so I know the temp drops but still I thought the lamp would keep it the same. I need a thremostate is there such a thing for a brooder? I was thinking maybe I need two lights.
Oh and by the way I picked Coopdeville for the name seems like when I told people they thought it pretty fun, but I really like Stonedhens, hehehe. My generation I guess. So who told me about coopdeville?
My son is almost done with the run and we still got to get the coop fixed up. Boy there's a lot of work in these chickies, but oh so worth it and I don't even have them yet.

. Maybe you should try lowering it 1 degree, or raising it 1 degree and see what happens... Not that you need to hatch more chicks... but just an experiment... and document temps several times a day and see what happens...NOT THAT YOU NEED MORE.... Yes you do.

Do you think I should lift the broody? Put ice under her? Give her a fan? Not sure how to change temps with a broody, lol. I have hatched under a hen and in the incubator..no matter, my roo ratio is ridiculous.. and did you see that I impulse bought some d'uccle eggs? They should be here tomorrow.

Well tomorrow is my arraignment in the 21st. district court. Wish me luck.

I just spent an hour on the phone with my friend who works for a big-shot law firm downtown. She is more worried about this than I am. I mean I'm taking it seriously but I'm not worried. Anyway, she gave me a couple of names to drop if need be.

The sun will be rising in just under an hour so it is time to wake up. The day is going to be absolutely beautiful so you don't want to miss any of it. Yesterday I did all the trimming with the weed eater and this morning I should mow the lawn but I also should go do a little bluegill fishing. Such tough decisions could wear a feller out before the day even gets started.

Good Morning Opa, just finishing off my pot of coffee and I am about to head out for lunch here. I vote for fishing in the morning before it gets to hot and mow whenever you get back home.

This is my white Silkie Roo. He was at my son's when they called me and told me he got in a fight with another roo and said he was bleeding some and what should they do ? I told them to put Blu Kote on him. Went over the next morning and this is what I saw. DIL said they didn't have any Blu Kote so she put food coloring on him. LOL

I set my BYC preference so I get notified by email if there was a PM sent to me and for some reason it's not sending anything and I don't know about any PM's until I sign on, maybe she just didn't notice them.

Now that you mention it, I used to get emails, too, but don't anymore. Sometimes the little notification thing doesn't even pop up when I log in.

Alas, that is not a valid excuse this go 'round though as I did get the PM... just didn't have an answer yet.
