Raz - that skunk is so cute! Fix those blinds, will ya? :p

Fuzzy - my almost 3 month old D'Uccle, Waffles is only about the size of a 3-4 week old large fowl pullet. I was just remarking today about how tiny she is! The D'Uccle boys are 7 weeks old and are almost her size now. I think they must stay fairly small. Need a D'Uccle roo? I'll gladly re-home one of my boys to you. :D

Teeville - I had a lot of medical fun in highschool.. and about every test in the book it seemed like sometimes.

To be honest, much of the time I felt like it was actually a lot harder on my mum than it was on me, as things really wore on though that did change, when you're in a ****** situation people often give you their sympathies, but when the ****** situation becomes the norm, people tend to forget just how ****** it really is for you. There were times when I really could have used some hardcore sympathy. It took over a year to get a diagnoses, though, I don't know how long you have been struggling with this with your daughter. When we were still going back and forth to the hospital all the time, every time I had to get another test my mum would take me out to sushi after if I was able, and, even aside from the fact that sometimes we had to wait upwards of 6 hours for the test and were pretty hungry, was really nice. I hope you guys get a diagnoses soon. I got very used to being poked with needles / injected / blood drawn, after a while I started asking my mum to wait in the waiting room because it wasn't a big deal to me at all and was very difficult for my mum to watch, she does not like needles.
It's just a bit hard as a parent to sit there while your child is being put through all those tests. Her headaches started 2 years ago and got really bad last September. The med her Dr put her on at that time was the wrong one for her and her neurologist is worried about what it did in the 8 months she took it since she seemed to progressively get worse during that time. This next barrage of tests is to help try to determine that, the cause of the narrow blood vessels seen on the MRI/MRA and to rule out any auto immune disorder. It's looking like it will come down to genetics, med induced or both.

Now, since they are all the talk, I am not quite so happy to report I unwillingly rid the world of a coon tonight when I hit it while driving home. I am not sad about the coon's demise, but I am really not fond of hitting animals while driving.

And in other news, I have integrated my teens to the coop. They were able to come out today after being in lock down in their new home. Of course, one never really came out when I opened it, but the others managed to form two groups and huddled in the tall grass near the back of the pole barn for most of the day. A few brave souls even managed to walk around the yard a bit.

OK I would like to make my heat lamp speech. Mostly for new peeps.

NEVER NEVER EVER put a heat lamp in anything but a porcelain fixture. The fixture should have a sticker that says MAX bulb/lamp size. If you put a heat lamp in one of the cheap clamp on fixtures, you are playing with fire LITERALLY !! See the cheap fixtures can't take the heat. Thus the risk of fire.

I know some of you are probably tired of seeing me post about this. Well Since my friend / feed supplier lost their entire barn, Feed business and all their breeding hogs due fire that as near as we could tell was related to a heat lamp. I am on a mission. I will continue to spread the word. If I can save even one person from suffering what I saw my friend go through I will have succeeded.

I had such a headache last night I couldnt respond to posts and I was so tired they all muddled together..

Did someone say they were bringing me ground cover? Because thats great..and if not, thats fine too..cant miss what I wasnt getting. lol.

I caught Robin did not hatch any d'anvers- which means my yard will not be full of too many birds. Cuz I gotta save space for when she does hatch em..

Am I bringing SillyChicken's Uggos to RaZs?

Nigellas wants fluffy- of whatever color.

Jen is bringing many fluffies to Chickenstock, so I will have to avoid her section...lol.

Olive- something about Olive.

Peppermint- will spread. YAY. How about lemon balm and does anyone have lillies of the valley that they want to donate to my yard?
I do not ever want to work this hard again in my yard. I want it all filled in so that I wont ever have to plant anything. remember that I have a bulldozer that lives in my backyard, if my yard gets too full of stuff I only need to give him access to eat it down OR let the chicken heathens out.
I need two more flats of the woolly thyme- but it is thirtytwo dollars a flat. Thats ten plants. Thats expensive.
Also moss. My neighbor across the street has moss but she isnt talking to me. I didnt do anything wrong- but talk to her next door neighbor and hang out at a bonfire. They dont get along. But I dont get into that 'if youre my friend, you cant be her friend ' stuff. Thats elementary school.

My husband said, and I love him, I do..he said, "you have to be pretty much done in here (my secret garden) because if you dont all of that is going to be filled in and look like a big green carpet." (precisely what ground cover should do dear...)
Juise- yes I bought milkweed at eight dollars a pot. Didnt get much could use more. Now I only have four stems of it. I bought two pots with two stalks in each one.

Anyone who owns d'uccles...
Do your make sounds like a nursing puppy all the time? Mine whimper. Its them communicating, but they sure sound of the mammalian variety.
I have THREE broodies and nothing to put under them. Not duccles- the silkies and the frizzle. I dont think I will attempt to do porcelains again- what a disappointment.

Any mint will spread -- peppermint, spearmint, chocolate mint, apple mint... take your pick.

Lemon Balm is a noxious weed; give it a foot, it'll take your backyard and the backyards of all your neighbors. It's tall though, not what I would call ground cover. Reportedly makes a nice tea, though.

Clover could work and you can get that in seed. Seed = Much Cheaper.

Juise is giving Nova an Elephant named Sandra, but I didn't see any offer of ground cover... maybe I missed it.

Olive-
yuck to the clover. Dont want that in my yard.
WHEN i had grass- it was infiltrated with clover. Clover=bees. Bees= ouch=allergic reaction=misery.

Yeah yeah, flowers bring bees. Thats fine. Better than them being hid in my grass for my unsuspecting self.

The peppermint is planted with my noxious weeds as a background plant. It can be tall. I would have planted cat nip but then my two indoor/outdoor cats would have called their friends and had parties in my flower beds.

As in the weed? Really? I have a full field of it that we mow down - except for the ones with eggs and caterpillars. I'll dig you some if you want them.

Also anyone going to cs want some Jerusalem Artichokes? If so I'll also dig some of them up.

The morning is starting off cool and the forecast for the coming days isn't to shabby. Supposedly it will reach 90 by Sunday. Do you think that summer has finally arrived?

A person from the local newspaper contacted me and wants to do an article about raising chickens. She will be calling me later this morning and while I don't mind talking with her I don't think I care to be mentioned by name in the article. Technically I have exceeded the allowable square footage for outbuildings and I don't think I need to have additional attention drawn to me.

Yes, Tap, I would love some milkweed...I would like to dedicate a section in the back of the yard to that and ornamental grasses. Oh, and to the little unidentified bird who was making a nest in my birdhouse, but I think the sparrows chased it away.

MoooohooooHAHAHAHAHAHA! >:) Beware, I will unleash the fluffies!!!!

Okay, okay, okay...lets just skip over all the "im not gonna do it's.." IF YOU WERE to have one of your older youngsters...like from your March/April hatches that was a showgirl and was indeed a GIRL available..I would want it. If you were to have a Splash anything that was a GIRL...I would want it, too.
That said,
Dont be offended when I avoid walking by your set up at CS...come talk to me in a neutral zone..like by the playground.
