There is this guy that I pass when I work. He has a really neat set up. Its basically a converted dog pen. I will try and get picture thursday. But what they did was use the metal tubing that you have for chain link fence, but at where the T's would be, they used a modified 4-way and build a chain link roof. Then, over that, they have the tarps to keep the sun and rain out. Built a chain link and wood door and frame.

Hmmm. Good to know! I was wondering if I could go that low-tech with the temp swings we get in late-May/early-June. Oh, and we scored a special order return (had been installed and then taken back out) window at lowe's on Sunday for under $10. That's cheaper than the re-use store, AND I don't have to worry about lead paint! Can't wait for cooler weather, a little extra $, and time to build another coop!

Thank goodness for some rain!! My garden is VERY happy to have some 'real' water, and I'm pretty sure the tomato plants grew another 6 or 8in overnight! I'm trying to decide of I need to go pick my broccoli today. The crowns aren't very big yet, but this is my first year with it, and I don't want it to bolt on me.

Broccoli is very forgiving. If you're late, all it'll do is flower pretty little yellow flowers but it's still very edible. Sometimes I let mine go on purpose to put the flowers in salads

If my tomatoes keep growin like they are, they'll be 15 feet high by August

Thank you! Makes my day a "little" better. It's my birthday so I thought I'd goof off, however, the day's half gone and I'm still working on other peoples projects.. Pictures of chicks makes me smile! Thank you again!

X2! :woot Went to the job interview, but the guy that I was suppose to meet was not there, so waited awhile, and a lady did the interview, and I think that it went well. But I will not know until I got the job or not until the end of this month, or in August when schools starts. :barnie

The poor babies get picked on so bad. They stay separate. Even the BR's their size peck the crud out of them

But aren't they purdy?

Hey Uchytil... What we doing for our birthday?

We have not gotten a speck of rain here today. That 40% chance has been a big fat ZERO! According to the temp gage at the bank, as of 25 minutes ago, it was 92 out. UGH!! I gave the birds watermelon earlier. Nothing so funny as seeing those meaties realise that it was very yummy food. I guess I should thank the silkies for that. They, the meaties, now eat more treats I bring them since having the girls in there with them, and the chicks who also hang out in there with them since their mama abandoned them, and decided that laying eggs was not in her best interest at this time, but sitting on eggs is. Stupid chicken will not take no for an answer. She's on 2 eggs. Thats it. Just 2. SO, she best hope that they're fertile. There I go, anthropomorphising my hen.

Well anyway... Rain... Where is MY rain. Oh... My well. My rain is in my well. Good thing I have one, or my water bill would be outrageously high.
