Gaaah!! Someone nearby is selling marans chicks for $4 each. DH said to "do whatever I want." I want them. But. I think they're selling them straight run, they only have 3 left, and I REALLY don't want marans roosters. Is there ANY way to make a decent guess at sexing these being 1, 2, and 3 weeks old? (They also have EEs and OEs and Swedish Flower hens. And I waaaant them too!) I need another coop!!!

Holy-moley, I'm really behind on the posts... I've still got 20 more pages to catch up on! lol

Nothing much to report here... The Doctor is turning out to be a really pretty Roo, Mom2. :) And amazingly, I *think* Mrs. Robinson (AKA mangy squirrel) is a pullet. lol

We've been enjoying the last few days here now that the weather isn't so intense. Looking forward to our camping trip in St Ignace in a few weeks. I LOVE it up there. Trying to convince my husband to extend our trip so we can drive even further north for a trip to painted rocks and Tahquamenon Falls. I think it'll end up having to wait until next year - Since we aren't sure how baby will do on her first camping trip, we don't want to push it too much... Plus, my husband is a real tech head, and I think he's fearing long-term without internet access. lol

My garden is out of control. I've never grown corn before this year and mine is now at least 7 feet high. Is that normal? All the farms around here are about chest high, and I'm sure they really know what they are doing, versus my hack job growing it, lol. Everything in my garden is really big - I think all the sun is really pushing it into turbo-grow.

I do believe I have one each on the faverolle chicks I got from Randy. I think the SS may b a boy also. Gonna try and get pics of the polishes... Maybe ya'll can tell...

That reminds me... I've been wondering who picked the faverolle chicks I had put in the drawing. Anyone know? They were from the eggs Silly Chicken gave me, hatched by the Java that Eeyore now has, lol.

So, I just found the little chick dead. I dont get it????
It WAS hurt/knocked out yesterday, but today it was FINE every time I checked on them it was running around with its sibling and Mama Hen. In fact, I couldnt tell which of the two it was, any longer.
Awww, sorry about the baby loss. :(
Good Morning! Looking forward to a much cooler day today.

My kitten is going strong.

Oh my gosh.... That is really crazy cute. I want to snuggle your kitten. :)

And Juise - LOVE the dolls. Really cute. You should put them on your blog so I can add them to my pintrest likes. ;)

OK... need to wash some dishes, then I'll try and catch up more. :)

a little bummed today.. my drawing didn't make the cut. He picked 3, all computer generated. One I did like, but the others were just ehhhhh........oh well. It was still fun.
What!!! I gotta see these others! Can you post them? Or the site to check them out? I call BS!

I bet you're not growing field corn.

After dealing with predators that I can't do much about for the last two weeks it was nice to be able to shoot at one this morning! We have a coyote who has been hassling a small deer the last week or so. I didn't hit him but I made him run. I think after seeing the deer again today that it isn't a fawn but a very small yearling. I'm also pretty sure it's the same coyote that DH missed last week.

My lavender female guinea didn't come home last night. I only let them out for two hours in the evening while I sat and read and watched over them. I was SO frustrated. But this morning she was pacing the top of the run trying to find a way in. I'm so glad nothing happened to her. I also found the spot that the escapee's were using and repaired it so no one got out yesterday. When I did let them out in the evening they all just stood there like they didn't know how to go out. Crazy chickens.
