Ok, time for one more cup of coffee (this is only my second this week, but I ran out of tea, and me a Brit) and then it's time to collect some goat poo for the vet. Hopefully she's clean after all the wormer she's had.

And today's going to be a long one. Because, tomorrow I go and get my new birds, Yay!

Maybe in cities, but not so much for country dwellers and I would even hazard a guess that suburban dwellers have far more resident coons than they realize. Our chicken coop is coon proof, there is no food lying around willy nilly. They're still everywhere. And I say again: remember that the population is very, very high. The normal rules of the game do not apply.

I'll stand behind this since I live in the country and was an avid trapper in the 70's/80's ( so I 9think) I know my fur targets). Anyway, it's tru that a den can support the type of problem some of the folks have. I just believe that unless the food source is there they will find something else. If I put out a food source the coon and possums will show up. Like I stated - until my corn comes in they stay away. I think my heeler helps a little too, sort of like predator urine. Here's a tidbit: when I used to trap coyotes I used a hole set with rabbit meat. I caught more rabbits than dogs becase the rabbits were attracted to rabbit scent. Nothing to do with coons though. If I get a coon problem I'll make tree sets with conibears so I don't waste ammo or catch non-target animals.

BTW, you need to take the sign down that says "Welcome". Ha ha!

Is it too hot to trim around my Christams trees - yes it is, maybe a cold barley pop would be a better idea while I catch some rays! Have fun Michigan!
