I am honestly curious. I keep seeing people who breed parent to off-spring, and I wonder why. So far I have not had that problem... The girls that are Mr. Fluffers get are only being covered by either Roger, or by Rod Stewart. I am not planning to hatch any of those eggs though. That is why I wanted to get fav's from some one else so I wouldn't be breeding Mr. F back to Loralie or Beulah.

If I got some of these made up... Would anyone buy them for $23 next year???

I can get them to say whatever we want!
It will all depend on the money situation too...
Unless I had people order them ahead of time!!!!

We got our first egg today! The girls are 17 weeks old. I'm pretty sure it's our Isa Brown. I hadn't taken the mesh off the nest boxes yet and my DH found it on the coop floor in a corner. When we took off the mesh the Isa jumped up and started scratching all around in the box and snuggled right down. Huh, didn't expect that little treat today!
Congratulations. It's always exciting to have a hen lay her first egg. My new ISA browns didn't lay until 20 weeks, but I think all 3 are laying now. They are a darker brown than my other hens. They are also getting bigger. I had a whopper today that weighed 82 grams. It's the size of a tennis ball.

With parent to sibling it is called Line Breeding, and brother and sister is called in- breeding. A lot of people line breed animals to capture a certain quality in the parent that they want to keep in their breeding. I found this a lot when I use to breed Cocker Spaniels. I myself have never done either one. Line breeding is ok once or twice but then no more, and in- breeding is just wrong no matter how you look at it. For example say I have a Rooster with very heavy leg feathers and I wanted to keep that trait. I would in turn breed his daughters to him and siolidify that trait for future generations. I'm not real sure how it works on birds but I am on dogs. Best I can do for you on the phone.

Have you made up a prototype? Is it a sewn bag?
If you are sewing them and need help, let me know. I have several machines including a serger.
(I forgot to bring the feed bag totes to CS)

I would not be making them... just ordering and selling.
Maybe I could get specific names on them... I would have to call the company.

OR Shirts ... Right now they are on sale... they would be $10... right now

I don't suppose anyone near Lansing or Jackson is going to have Muskovy ducklings anytime soon?

My boyfriend's uncle has started his own farm. It's a LOT bigger than ours but he also grew up here with Aric's mom when this place had 450+ acres. He wants ducks pretty bad so I'm selling him some of mine that have gotten old and need a good place to retire. I have certain ones I'm keeping of course but I figure they'd love it at Dale's place!

So, I've given myself permission

to get more and this time i want Muskovys. I'm also still looking for another 1 or 2 guinea keets, preferably lavender.

I'm probably too far from you (in Richmond, about a half hour south of Port Huron), but I've got just what you're looking for: Muskovy ducklings about 2 weeks old and I have lots of guinea keets (pearls AND lavendar) that range from a week old to about 2 1/2 months old.
