Your kids are going to really enjoy this series!
The books are way better than the movies. Or so my youngest daughter tells me.
She is about to be 18 and still enjoys Harry Potter.

I was the biggest HP fan throughout high school and college, and have been waiting for years for my kids to be old enough to start reading it together! I agree with your daughter, btw. I think the only movie that comes close to the book is #3 (Prisoner of Azkaban).
