I am thinking to buy an incubator;), but I want one that will incubate about 90 or 100. The sportsman or dickey sound very professional, but they are too big:(. I am looking for one with the characteristic of a sportsman or dikey, but a little smaller. Any suggestions.

. Thanks

Two Hova Bators will hatch 90 eggs and are half the price of a Sportsman and will take less room.

Sportmans, used about the same as 2 hova bator, and they last for 20 years. and alot less work. much better hatch than the styroform which are alot of work and only last a few years.

More money ,but the lyon roll-X one of the best.

Buy the Sportsman. A good used one for about $300 would meet your needs and is better with fewer eggs than maximum anyway.

If you always run equipment at maximum, you are probably using stuff that is too small.

I don't know of many incubators that have a 100 egg capacity, maybe Brinsea does one, but they would be about the same price as a Sportsman anyway.

Thanks for your replies and suggestions. By the way What is a LG? I found the OVA 190 by brinsea that looks like the sportsman, hatches 100 eggs, but the cost is about 100 less than the sportsman, not too much of a saving considering the sportsman hacthes about 260. I might go with the sportsman.

The Ova 190 takes 190 chicken eggs.

Brinsea offers a range of extremely high quality incubators, much favoured by specialists for their highly accurate temp control, and auto-humidity features.

I had a Brinsea Octagon 20, and would buy another in a heartbeat.

They can be expensive. OTOH, the top line Sportsman I have seen advertised at $700+

Used sportsman, sell for under 300.00. Be carefull, lots of sportsman out there that are for all type of eggs.

All have back up thermostat. most with turners,

sell high on ebay, but check out craiglist in your area.

I have 6 some 20 years old. All still work great.

Does any one know where or have a USED Sportsman available for sale?

I have been looking for quite a while and no luck...???
