Middle GA newbie

I have been lurking for a few months. Live in middle GA. Have enjoyed all the posts. Have only 8 chickens, 2 Black Murans, 2 Austrolorps (sp ?), 2 Wynadottes, 1 green egger, and one big red protective rooster.

I have a question. Why is my green egger suddenly laying white eggs? Her eggs used to be green. The other hens lay brown and copperish brown eggs. Thanks

Greetings & Salutations. Welcome MsLiz. A great place to learn and share knowledge...and stories.
I too, read Articles and Forums for a few months before we joined and did not have chickens for another 3 months. I wanted to learn more before chicks arrived. 8 is a good amount but don't be surprised if that number grows.

All eggs start out white then pigment adds color at it moves through the oviduct. Lack of color can be caused by stress, an infection, antibiotics and age.
