Yah, last time I started asking folks as they came in the door. The ones who weren't chicken people huddled far away from me and whispered among themselves, and the ones who were chicken people joined us!

I even tried to recruit a few non-chicken people to our team, but they apparently do not have a sense of 'UMAH.

Just one and it dosn't really matter what kind as long as it comes from an NPIP home. The new baby just needs to be tiny enough to not squash this baby. She's an ameraucana. I have more hatching in about week and a half. Screamy just doesn't like being alone. I moved a couple of the four week olds in there right now so she'd quit yelling, but they are moving outside this weekend. They are entirely too big to be in the house now. Everyone finally feathered out so outside they go.

Are you coming tomorrow?

I am planning on coming today if things work out. I have never seen an ameraucana, I have only ever hatched silkies and showgirls. These babies hatched last week sometime they may be too big or too active. Let me know what you think.

actually.... I have a week younger Ameraucana's in with week older silkie's it works out well.....you might be fine city girl with that....Hope you make it out Tish!!!....I have babies...but not NPIP yet

I think I'm good now. A surprise late baby popped out overnight. YAY! Screamy is happily toddling about now (quietly!) while the new kid naps. There are still a few eggs in there. Perhaps they will surprise me too.

THanks for all the offers, y'all. Nice to know you've got my back.

See everyone at 3pm!!

Glad your chick situation worked out, CityGirl. You're hatching in a bator with all those silkies walkin' around???

I would think you've got Broody Central at this time of year. . . .

Now I must see pics of Screamy some time soon - -

No... my brats have decided to never go broody again. Dorks. 10+ female silkies at my house and not a darn one has gone broody. Instead I am running two incubators in the house.

I'll try to post pictures of Screamy later this evening after the meet up. She's pretty darn cute and the palest splash I have ever hatched. Can't wait to see what she turns into (and, as it is my own personal dream to have a splash hen, we are just going to keep calling her a "she").

We'll miss you and Holly today!
