I'd like to buy a dozen or so fertile MW eggs. Found someone locally that will hatch them for $4 a dozen for me

The closer to Massachusetts the better, but I will cover shipping. Any recomendation where I can get some that will not be insanely expensive? I don't know yet how trustworthy this lady is...or what her hatching skills are like. I guess I'd like to start with a dozen and then if I get a good hatch out of that, I'll try more...I have two poults now, and I'm falling hard for these little guys. The fact that there are so few of them, and people want to raise them for meat and for pets...there are just so few anywhere in New England...I'm so lucky I found 2!

Thanks!

I don't have my Midgets yet but Laura from this place will be putting some eggs in the incubator for me soon. I don't know if she would be willing to ship some eggs to you or not (she will not ship poults), you'd have to ask. She's been great to email with.

Good luck!

Good luck, I'm just going to wait till next spring (when I have some money

) and order some poults from a hatchery. I can't see spending $30+ for 6 eggs that might not even hatch

I can get 12 for $52 shipped...does that seem reasonable? Then $4 to the lady that is hatching them. It does seem like a gamble, but I don't need 12 poults and I can't seem to find anyone local that will split a hatchery order with me.

I e-mailed Sands Poultry, but I haven't heard back...

That price sounds reasonable, particularly if they are a pure bloodline and you get some extras. Some areas of the country people are getting $4 each plus shipping. Also be aware that midget whites are not uniform from different sources. Someone like Steve will send you as pure a line as there is while many hatcheries will just ship a small white turkey that probably has a good bit of MW in it but other white varieties as well. Typically they are a little bigger at maturity than the true MW too.
