Midget White incubation time different?

I'd try calibrating your thermometer against a known calibrated thermometer such as a medical one. It may be yours is reading a bit low so that your true temperature is actually warmer than what yours is showing. This would account for the early hatches.

I would have guessed temperature but my chickens hatch right on time so this is confusing. I don't have a medical thermometer, though. I have a Brinsea Spot Check, Accurite, Springfield, and a meat thermometer. I keep a good eye on my temps. I know that the Springfield reads high by a degree. My meat thermometer reads 32.6F in ice water. Now the decision once again......I have more turkey eggs due to go into lockdown on Saturday according to the normal turkey schedule.

I tried some of pawtraitart's Midget white hatching eggs this year. Guess what, The little stinkers hatched out on days 24 and 25. the duck eggs they were in with didn't hatch until day 28. I then got some more MW eggs from a local guy. Those began hatching on day 24 and the last one will be out here shortly on day 25. The duck and goose eggs that are in with are not peeping or pipping yet. I'm betting they don't hatch until day 28. My incubator (Brinsea) has two thermometers. I also have a digital and another regular one in there. They are always right on. The digital was just recalibrated. So in pawtraitarts defence these little tweerps are a bit on the quick side.

I know if the temp is too high they can hatch early, but they will usually be weaker poults. Those are some hardy little buggers I got and if thats weaker I don't think I could handle a really healthy one. Those little buggers are trying to take on the BBW boys that are 5 weeks older and 50 times their size. They have bigger poops than those little farts. Fiesty little stinkers, and bouncy too! One of them even tried showing for my year old BBW hens. The girls showed right back. It would have made a cute picture having the little ones strutting between the legs of a big one. I need to buy me a new camera.

The ones i have hatched have been early as well
